I was watching "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" last night and there was a part where the military sprayed a bunch of "EZ4, a sleep aerosol". Is this stuff for real? What is it? Why don't they use it more often in riot situations, etc?

- - - I have never heard of solid (powdered) respiratory-deliverable tranquilizers.
- Medical respiratory anesthetics are gas mixures; most (if not all) of them are flammable/explosive. - MC
