Every bank I deal with I have this happen. I go in with my jeans and t-shirt and get mediocre service. Then they run my credit. They fall over themselves to try and give me money. It’s cute.

FWIW you can record a long term lease (you can even be required to record a lease) and some commercial landlords do just this with multi year tenants. Not sure how that would hit a credit report. I’ve never heard of a residential lease being recorded.
