Years ago, former child star Jackie Cooper entitled his autobiography, “Please Mister, Don’t Shoot My Dog” (or something very similar- I’m to lazy to look it up!), based on an incident from his childhood acting days. To get him to do a teary scene, a director apparently threatened to kill Jackie’s dog!
