What Did Queen Elizabeth I Do For Women?

Elizabeth I, herself, was no feminist. I agree with several posters here that the concept did not exist.

She did however, set a precedent. Future female rulers were able to cite Elizabeth’s succesful reign. Educating daughters became less of an oddity.

Antonia Fraser also wrote a smashing biography of Elizabeth I, in addition to her other works listed here.

Sorry, I was actually thinking of Alison Weir. She’s written some great biographies of historical women. I highly recommend them.
