I always found that one a bit too schmaltzy. The two eps of So Called Life I didn’t like were the supernatural/ghosty/angel-y ones–that one, and the Halloween one with the ghost of the guy who is meant to be like Jordan Catalano.

I never found it that way – very emotionally real. And I always get chills at the line

The very first Simpsons Christmas ep was darn good. Marge is writing the Christmas card & bragging about what everyone has accomplished all year. She gets to Bart:

“…We think Maggie will say her first word any day now. And Bart? Well, we love Bart.”

The best Christmas episode ever, as far as I’m concerned, is Supernatural’s “A Very Supernatural Christmas.” We get evil Santas kidnapping people, a drunken creepy Santa, a really abominable performance of “Silent Night”, a torture scene, stabbing the villains with Christmas tree branches, and finally, in the touching scene at the end, the heartwarming gift? Porn.
