One of my favorite professors is kindly doing a conference course with me to replace a British History course that I cannot fit into my schedule.

Instead of having me follow along with the regular class by independent study, he's assigned six books that I get to read and then do a 3-5 pag book review on each book.

Here's the list:

Charles II by Ronald Hutton

Britons: Forging a Nation by Linda Colley

Mrs. Jordan's Profession by Claire Tomalin

Melbourne by David Cecil

Edward VII by Giles St. Aubyn

Churchill by Geoffrey Best

I'm an avid reader and love reading about history :), so I'm definitely looking forward to this course. Has anyone read these books? Do you have any insights that I can keep in mind as I read them?
