Master Interviewer dead at 77. (http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/09/15/italy.fallaci.ap/index.html)

Abrasive, confrontational, fearless... un-PC even before there was such a concept as "PC"... and yes, sometimes an aggravating righteous b***h. But then again, you knew that her interviews would deliver.

I highly recommend this profile (http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/articles/060605fa_fact) published in the New Yorker only a few months ago. She was full of fire and rabble rousing right up to the end.

On the geekier side, Babylon 5 fans will appreciate this passage from her interview with Ray Bradbury (http://www.astronautix.com/articles/iftndies.htm) in If the Sun Dies, which was later adapted into a script for the show. She could really draw what she wanted out of her subject.

And her own (non-interview) writings contain stuff that will probably equally tick off the left and the right, which is no mean trick...
