I heard that when it is summer in the nothern hemisphere, it is winter in the southern hemisphere. How does this work? Is it warm in December in the southern hemisphere, or am I missing something here?

No, he's pulled by Six White Boomers (http://www.rich.durge.org/rolf/boomers.html) through the blazing sun.

Wikipedia article on seasons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season).

There are white Christmases in the Southern Hemisphere. You just have to be in the correct place. Here's just one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antarctica).
