View Full Version : are there online communities for sharing technical notes / mpsims?

afaik various notes taking software, including Microsoft OneNote, have attempted supporting multiple users working with the same set of notes. Building on this idea, hypothetically, a large online community could exist generating OneNote-style short notes/articles about whatever mundane not-quite-pointless technical info tidbits its members may encounter. The notes would basically accumulate in a searchable database and so on.

In some ways that might be sort of like a wiki or E2, and in other ways it might be sort of like StackOverflow, but dynamics might be a bit different.

Anyway, so has anybody encountered this sort of communities out in the wild? Or does the notion of shared text notes belong mostly to the vendors' marketing brochures?

Many software packages have a Wiki containing user-produced documentation, either one set up by the vendor/author, or one set up by the users indepedently.
