Several times in the past I have recommended http://quuxware.com/e-crostic/ to anyone who enjoys acrostic puzzles. Today's led me to http://roughlydaily.com/2009/05/11/butchering-sacred-cows/ which I suspect might amuse many of you.

That is all.

I liked this review of FotR (http://www.cynical-c.com/2009/08/12/you-cant-please-everyone-the-fellowship-of-the-ring-movie/).

I’m a big movie buff, I’ve seen Citizen Cane and I love Castleblanca, but I can not see why this film has gotten so much attention! It bills itself as a historical drama, but none of the history books I’ve looked through mentioned any great war or things like Hobbits or Elves. And talk about a long movie! They think we need another half an hour? …

I recomend Pearl Harbor, it’s a much more historically acurate and the love story is more believable.

I need to see this Castle Blanca movie.

This is the story of an ambitious young man with dreams of leaving his small town, but due to circumstances beyond his control, has to stay there the rest of his life. His savings and loan has to constantly help out the poor inhabitants, who seem incapable of either earning or saving money. At the first sign of financial trouble, all the dear friends that George has helped out demand their money back. George is such a poor businessman that at the prospect of missing ONE payment to Potter his business will go backrupt and he is prepared to kill himself. Then a angel shows up and convinces George that his miserable life has at least made OTHERS happy.

In a cruel irony, George is forced to accept hand-outs from the townsfolk he helped out. If they had this money, why did they need the loans in the first place?

Exactly!

LOL. Surely someone from the Dope wrote this:

Any good sc-fi movies should have an meaningful and logical story, this is exactly what Alien lack. The CGI(if any) and special effect frankly not today’s standard which make this film nothing more than a piece of junk. I keep on asking this question when I watched this film: “If nobody came to this alien planet, how can the Aliens survive in the first place?”(This aliens are not intelligence enough to make any spaceship)If you looked for a film in similar genre I highly recommand you watch “The thing” instead. Alien is no more than the psychopath in “Friday the 13th” dressing in Alien suit. This film is just a waste of time and money.
