I'm at 662,655,000 for the Heights. So I've done 300M in a week or two. I bought one of each upgradable buildings and plug away at it, building a replacement when it hits level five.

I never have enough pills or yoga mats.

I find I do ok with oscars and when I get low, I just send Bumblebee Man. It keeps from eating up all the good stuff and he earns twice as much as the other characters. I think with what I have left to build, I might be all set on ads.

I've completed the casino prizes. Now I'm grinding for donuts. Gotten 2 bonus boxes already and am close to my third. I've gotten extra spotlights and fountains and trees and plants, but I have to decide how many more of each. Just to keep in storage, hoping they can go to KrustyLand

Drunky Smurf 03-21-2016 09:50 PM

Does anyone else have a problem with Milhouse? He's being a little punk. I set everyone to go on a job for 12 or 24 hours and everyone goes. Except Milhouse. He sits there with his stupid grin and I have to send him personally on a job instead of through the unemployment office.

Tom Tildrum 03-22-2016 07:50 PM

Does he have a task pending? Maybe in his Magic Act skin?

I'm having a problem with a Daily Task that won't clear. It's telling me to play slots, but when I do so, nothing happens to the task.

Maybe he does, I'll have to check. Thanks for the suggestion.

Well I finished Act 3 last night. But since I never took Lisa off the collecting of chips from the casino I still have to finish the quests to get Homers House of Cards so hopefully I can get that done before the event ends.

ZipperJJ 03-23-2016 10:32 AM

I finished getting all the big stuff (need 2 more prizes) so I spent some time laying out my "Springfield Strip" last night. I am quite proud of it. It is actually not that intricate but it's one of the few times I've been able to spend money freely on an area so it actually has plenty of land and stuff like specifically-placed fencing and shrubbery, as opposed to everywhere else in my town that is crammed together and random pieces placed around so I could get stars.

Personal 03-23-2016 04:47 PM

I've got a bunch of trinkets left over and nothing really to spend them on. And to think that in the beginning I thought the game was being stingy in rewarding them.

Fenris 03-23-2016 04:53 PM

I wish there was a way to trade in blue chips (say at a 2:1 ratio or something) for red chips. I missed Lucias Sweet and there's absolutely no way I'm paying 400 donuts for him.

Hockey Monkey 03-23-2016 08:35 PM

Hello again fellow Springfieldians! I had stopped playing for a while but then started back just in time to miss the Monorail event. I've been playing daily again since. I have loved building my own casino strip. If anyone wants to add me as a neighbor, I still have some spots left. I'm mousecouture on there. I'm finished with Springfield Heights till they give us more stuff to do and I am in bonus chips for the Casino event. If you add request me, let me know who you are here too. :)

Well I checked and he and none of his costumes have any unfinished tasks. Oh well. He's the only one it happens to so it's no big deal.

After playing every single freakin' day for over 3 years I've dropped out.
Please feel free to delete me to make room.

Fair Rarity 03-28-2016 08:06 PM

I'M A BILLIONAIRE, FINALLY

Just have to collect a bunch more mats and pills and lattes to fill up my storage. Woo hoo!

Drunky Smurf 03-29-2016 11:01 AM

The thing that sucks is that even though you made it to a billionaire if you don't get all the mats up to 200 the quest icons for each mat stay in the upper left corner with the character icons. It was bugging me so I spent a couple of days getting each one up to 200 to make them go away.

You got 1/3 of a billion in eight days? How many hours a day do you play?

A lot. I can keep my device open while I work. Plus it wasn't constant. It was every 16 minutes for the pills. Even if it timed out, I'd get a notification pop up that would catch my eye. I wanted it done so I worked worked worked. It helps if you don't have to use many awards and ads.

Drunky Smurf 03-29-2016 08:50 PM

I've noticed something.

At Homers House of Cards if you choose the five cards in a single row you mostly win. I did 35 times in a row and only three were not winners. I did notice a lot of "3 of a kinds too".

When I would just randomly pick cards between both rows the lose rate seemed to be about at least 30%.

gotpasswords 03-29-2016 09:36 PM

The gambling is over, but still no level 60.

How many months has it been? I wonder if they're running out of ideas and Tapped Out is soon to be Maxed Out.

Here's a list of upcoming plot lines, which usually end up in the game somehow, even if only for a few days (I'll put it in a spoiler just in case):
SPOILER:

Smithers "dumps" Mr. Burns, and Homer sets him up with another man (reported to be Julio from "Three Gays of the Condo"

Yet another "two family members have a falling out, only for somebody else to show one of them how lucky they are to have the other one in his/her life" (this trope goes back at least to an I Love Lucy episode with Rock Hudson) episode; meanwhile, Bart gets a new accomplice for his pranks - Maggie

Flashback to when the Simpsons and Flanderses got lost in the Grand Canyon

Homer wants to take Marge to Paris, but he has to smuggle an exotic animal into France in order to afford it (aren't Cesar and Ugolin premium characters?)

In the season finale, Marge goes to prison ("orange is the new yellow") - I can see this being a lengthy game storyline, considering how many prisons/jails are already in the game), and of course the final "prize" will be "orange jumpsuit Marge"

Folly 03-30-2016 09:17 AM

A very mild warning. If your daily task is to 'play casino games', a 5x play only counts as one.

I wish. I get crafting stuff, but the bonus donut option is gone.

raventhief 03-31-2016 04:47 PM

Arson/volunteer fire department story line now.

Drunky Smurf 03-31-2016 05:13 PM

Sweet. I was hoping it wouldn't be too long before the next event. It's what I do during commercials.

Personal 03-31-2016 10:21 PM

I just firebombed a few churches. I feel unusually calm about that.

Drunky Smurf 03-31-2016 10:50 PM

Looking for the fires that start in your town, I found several hiding behind big buildings that I normally couldn't see. So if you hit the button to move stuff and then hit the buttons to make things transparent you might find more fires to put out like I did. I found an extra 7 that I normally wouldn't be able to see otherwise.

I'm about 200 medals from the fire station, so my reign of terror is about over.

Personal 04-05-2016 11:27 AM

I don't know if I'm ahead or behind, but I though I'd pass this along. I'll spoiler-box it in case people would rather learn it on their own, although I can't imagine that you would. Once you get the fire station:

SPOILER:
It's a 6-second build. In order to proceed on the quest you have to have both Homer and Ralph available.

Fair Rarity 04-05-2016 07:40 PM

A couple weeks ago Disney dropped Kingdoms, a similar world-building game.

I got it this week and it's kind of fun. It's Gameloft, not EA. I didn't like Gameloft's My Little Pony game (too easy to spend the equivalent of donuts and no "confirm donut spend" option). It was a huge pain to grind too and really repetitive. Plus it doesn't have the richness and longevity of The Simpsons or Disney.

It's more like TFGQFS than TSTO, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was interested and hadn't heard about it... like I hadn't.

Drunky Smurf 04-06-2016 10:16 AM

Thanks for mentioning Disney Kingdoms. I'll check it out tonight. I'm done with TSTO Fire department event so there's nothing going on there and TFGQFS is really starting to annoy me.

They start an event and give you like two weeks to finish it when in reality there is no way in hell you can finish it, or for me even get half-way through, unless you spend a lot of real world money on clams to fast track it. Seriously their current event for Wrestle Mania ends tomorrow and I'm only about half-way to getting their second tier prize let alone to getting their 7th or 8th tier prize the Giant Fighting Chicken.

Tom Tildrum 04-06-2016 11:19 AM

I found that the Family Guy game really raised the amount of effort needed just to hit the first-tier prizes recently -- perhaps with Christmas or the one before? It used to be a bit more reasonable about letting the freemium player get started. I guess this may be a sign that the game has a hard core of serious premium fans whom it's catering to.

I stuck with it for a long time; I liked the fact that they were willing to spend some money on voice talent. Between the added difficulty and the continued crashing problems that I was having, though, I have now dropped it.

The horror movies, Princess Bride, and Wrestle Mania didn't interest me, either. Will somebody let me know, please, if they do Pretty Little Liars? :D

If I found another game like it I'll probably drop Family Guy. It takes several minutes to load and half the time it crashes to my home screen and then I try to get back in and just as it's about loaded it kicks back to the home screen. The only way to get back in is too restart my device.

I'm gonna check out the Disney one tonight and if I like it I'll stop playing FG.

ZipperJJ 04-06-2016 03:48 PM

So I just realized I am passing up 100 medals every 3 hours in order to send firefighters Homer and Apu on weird side quests instead of putting out the police station fire. I bought them and am basically not even using them.

Ugggggh.

Drunky Smurf 04-06-2016 09:03 PM

Well Disney is dumb. Their game isn't compatible with my kindle which is what I play on since I don't have a smart phone.

So I did the google and found this article about other town building games.

http://www.gamezebo.com/2014/01/15/g...ns-tapped-out/

I downloaded My Little Pony and Oregon Trail. I just went through the tutorials for each. They look good. The funny thing with Oregon Trail is your daughter starts off with dysentery and you have to cure her. I might download the Finding Nemo one for something a bit different (underwater).

I already had the Smurfs one and played it for quite awhile but I stopped once I found out about The Simpsons.

I know this isn't the "Talk about any world building game thread." but I don't want to start a whole new thread just to ask a question.

Since you've played MLP I was wondering how do you get Ponies to get more stars. I got a quest to get Bon Bon to star level 2. She is currently at star level 1. Do I make her do jobs like make bread or cherry pies? Or what?

I did a google search and couldn't find a clear answer.

Personal 04-07-2016 10:24 PM

This thread isn't extremely active. I don't see a problem discussing similar games.

Drunky Smurf 04-08-2016 12:43 AM

Thank you for understanding. You are obviously a wonderful human being who deserves to be told how awesome you are. You are awesome. :)

Fair Rarity 04-08-2016 06:38 PM

Ugh, it's been so long since I played MLP but I *think* it involved doing minigames. Like isn't there a catch game and a trace the stars game? You had (have?) to do them dozens of times for EACH PONY to level them up.

Drunky Smurf 04-08-2016 07:00 PM

Ok, thank you. That stupid toss the ball back and fourth game keeps popping up all over and I'm already getting tired of. The mine cart game I'm still enjoying as it's at least fast paced and a bit exciting and you get to earn new ponies. I already got the first one.

I can see the repetitiveness of it, like you mentioned, getting me so annoyed that I drop the game.

The Oregon Trail game is still fun though.

Drunky Smurf 04-08-2016 07:56 PM

Yep it's the mini-games. I just got Bon Bon to star level 2.

Thanks for the help.

Truer words have never been spoken.

For some reason I decided to work on Krustyland tonight. I've got a lot of bare area and few tickets to buy stuff to fill it with. So I'm storing stuff in Springfield and then visiting Krustyland to see what will transfer. Not much, it turns out, so far. I'd think at least trees, shrubs and flowers would, but no. I do have a bunch of hay wagons and windmills from some event that did, at least.

Bolding mine. I wouldn't want that poster to come back and sue me for changing his quotes.

But yeah, if the only way to level the ponies is these 3 or 4 mini-games then yeah this is repetitive crappyness. I could see younger kids being cool with this but the ball toss, apple catch, connect the stars is ok at first but then you realize you'll have to do these same games over and over and over and over for every single pony and they claim there are like what, a whole bunch of them. I'm sorry but I got better things to do during the commercials of whatever TV show I'm watching. So I'm done with this for now.

Back to TSTO, TFGQFS and Oregon Trail.

At least TFGQFS has an event for a whole month. Maybe I might actually get some prizes. Unlike the Wrestlemania event which lasted 2 weeks and a lot of the stuff you needed to get prizes or new characters was "extra rare" and there was no way in hell you were going to get them unless you spent clams for real money. Blatant fucking money grab/scam.

At least with the Simpsons, if you have a life and family, you had a chance at some of the prizes and new characters. You may not get them all but you could get some without spending real money.

minionkat 04-09-2016 02:21 PM

My boyfriend downloaded Fallout Shelter on the tablet for me. He already regrets it. It is quite fun. I am working hard to keep them fed and watered and happy. It's a nice change from the Simpsons. Similar world building, but a different objective.

I became a billionaire in TSTO a few weeks ago, but the completionist in me wants all the buildings at their highest level. And a giant solid gold fence for the perimeter.

Personal 04-10-2016 12:40 PM

Trying Oregon Trail today. I like it, but I run out of energy way too quickly, which limits how much I can play.

Intergalactic Gladiator 04-12-2016 09:13 AM

So I've been grinding out with the monorail and Where's Maggie game and have 188 donuts now. I'm thinking of getting the Lotto N Liquor with Mr. Largo because he helps out at the dump and the building adds to consumerism (which I am OK with right now, but a town can only have so many Kwik-E-Marts, amIright?).

Anyone have him? What are your thoughts?

ZipperJJ 04-12-2016 10:00 AM

188 from the dumps! Nice grinding!

The extra ways to get donuts are great. It actually is incentive for me to spend money because I can get mostly close enough to a goal and then spend a few bucks on scratch tickets and make the goal. So it works in EA's favor I think.

I want to get Disco Stu, because he helps with yoga mats in Springfield Heights. Also, what's The Simposons without Disco Stu?

Drunky Smurf 04-12-2016 10:24 PM

Nuking your town.

For those of you who have nuked your town and started over, how long did it take you to rebuild your town?

I've been playing for about 3 years and have a ton of buildings and stuff. As new events came out and new buildings and things became available I just bought new land and put the new stuff there. So there is no rhyme or reason for the layout of my town and I've been thinking about nuking it and rebuilding to make it coherent but I'm afraid it might take a butt-load of time and I might just annoy the crap out of myself for having done so.

minionkat 04-13-2016 06:39 AM

I nuked my town in the fall. It look a bit to put it back and I still have things in storage. I am not fundamentally happier with the layout. I see now there is a multi selection option. I think that might be the way to go for any future rearrangements.
