I got a push poll last night

My town wants to build a new rec centre with a year-round swimming pool. So there will be a referendum next week on a 27.8 M bond issue. Last night I got what purported to be a poll (why bother? We'll soon know). After routine questions came the final one which went something like, "Are you prepared to vote against the proposal that the town borrow 27 million, eight hundred million (they went on the dollar) to build a rec centre?" I said "no" and hung up. Apparently the No side is using tactics even more dubious than that. Talking about massive overruns on both time and costs. I think our local pols are not on the take.

The best policy is to immediately hang up on a call as soon as you realize it's not someone you know nor a non-advertising call from a business you deal with.

I got a blatant one in 2016 for the Governor's election.

I mostly solve these problems by never answering the phone.

Heck, no. Don't answer the call at all. There's no such thing as an unbiased poll or a phone call that's not from the criminal element.
