It's also from 12 February 2017. It was updated on 5 February because his widow now says she killed him.

This happened 2 years ago.

Of note, the Honda store that had the same name as this guy has since changed its name to 'Honda of Olathe'.

Edit: Ninja'd! Leaving it for the additional factoid, though.

You know, after pointing out that Morgyn botched Ernie Bsnks' death, I suppose it's karma for me to do the same thing.

Offshoot of Gaudere's Law, I suppose.

Death pool list idea for next year: celebs who've been demoted to alternate status after several years on someone's list.[/QUOTE]

My theme for this year's entry was people I had picked to die on my 1999 to 2003 lists.

Fifteen years later and there were still enough of them alive to fill a new list. Plus alternates. Even after crossing off the ones who are now over a hundred.

Unlike most of the rest of the GOP, he realized fairly early in our Iraq misadventure that he'd gotten it wrong. Wrote thousands of letters of condolence to the families of our fallen soldiers. I'm sure I disagreed with him on a great deal, but he's one of the last Republicans I actually had a measure of respect for.

The road connecting the two terminals at Metro Airport is John Dingell Drive. When they retired the Berry Terminal, I always thought it would've been nice for the Berry family if airport administration added the Berry name to the road's name. A nice hyphenated tribute to the two men.

The link does not make mention of his demise, nor does there seem to be anything in a search Ė perhaps since it is a wiki page, it was vandalized and restored?

Looks like it's being talked about on Twitter, but I can't find anything on my usual news sources.

Of course, Lyndon LaRouche would say reports of his death are just another plot by Queen Elizabeth, the Jews, Greenpeace, and Satanists.

World Golf Hall of Famer Gene the Swing Machine Littler threw a Rod.

Age 88.

He won 29 times on the PGATour, including 5 tournaments after being diagnosed with cancer in the early 70's. He was a contemporary of Billy Casper and Arnold Palmer and won the 1954 San Diego Open as an amateur.

I have a few people connected with golf on my list, but not Gene.

Ganz, of course, is also well-known for playing Hitler in the movie "Downfall," about the last days of Hitler and ww2. A clip from that film quickly became an internet meme under the title "Hitler hates the ______"

William E. Butterworth III better known as W.E.B. Griffin dead at 89. Author of over 250 books under multiple pseudonyms. His Griffin books were a quick enjoyable read with vivid likable characters. I liked that his military books explored parts of history that were almost lost to history.

Pretty sure nobody had Kofi Burbridge. This one really makes me sad, I've seen TTB a handful of times and he was such a big part of the dynamic of that group. Watching him and Derek Trucks play off each other was such a treat.

I'm not a participant in the game, but I read recently that John Haynes, the creator of Haynes car repair manuals died.

I probably have bought a half dozen manuals in my life. YouTube and Google are probably just as informative these days, but before the internet Haynes manuals were the go-to for backyard mechanics.

He wrote A LOT.

His Brotherhood of War series was prominent in every PX since the 80s. Thatís where I picked them up. The heroes were a little too heroic, too handsome, too rich. But he also made them likable and engaging and you wanted to see what happened next.

Like I said I liked that he explored the areas of history that arenít covered too well in history. Some of which he was directly involved in. BoW dealt a lot with what the military was doing between WWII and Korea. He wrote about the infancy of Army aviation after the Air Force was formed. He wrote about the beginning steps of special operations. All while telling the stories of multiple families.

On a military page I follow someone said their father had a copy of the book that dealt with Army Aviation. The book was filled with scribbled notes about the real events and actual names of those involved. The entire book was based on fact but you didnít need to know that to enjoy it.

In many ways he could be considered a hack. He certainly had a formula. But that formula worked.

For a number of years his son has been co-authoring with him. I think it shows. His later series werenít as interesting to me.

No reason you can't post to the thread anyway. I lurked, then I threw in a few comments, then I got sucked into playing. This is the sixth year I've submitted a list, so I guess that makes me a regular now.
