HurricaneDitkas is a terrible poster. Farah Fawcett, on the other hand, is a great poster.

That doesn't sound like much of a hive.

In the Pit? C'mon now! This thread is just a perfect example of hive behavior is all.

It's unoriginal, redundant, derivative, completely devoid of thought, and worst of all boring!
Don't be so hard on yourself. I've seen decent posts from you before. I know you're capable of more than just "unoriginal, redundant, derivative, completely devoid of thought, and worst of all boring" posts! If you just put some thought and effort into it, you can actually engage and exchange ideas with other posters! Even in the Pit!

You can do it! Go octopus!

No I imagine a “Hang In There, HurricaneDitka!” poster with a picture of a cat clinging to a branch.

If so, I applaud the implication that the idea is ludicrous , and based on ignorance. I lived in different parts of Mexico for most of seven years, and continue to have strong personal and professional ties there. It has its problems, but it is very far from a “failed state.”
(I don’t mean to hijack this thread, just to support what I took to be part of its intent).
Ding! Ding! Ding!

That's the point I was making: I wasn't actually saying that HurricaneDitka is personally wicked - I don't know him. But Christ, Mexico is not a failed state. It's quite functional.

Violent? Check.

Corrupt? Check.

But saying that Mexico is a failed state is a clear misunderstanding of the phrase failed state. If Ditka is saying that Mexico is "failing" it's only because it's big buddy to the north has had a hand in helping them fail. We buy their drugs; we send gangs money and weapons. And a substantial number of people on the northern side of the border have no problem with it.

It's not groupthink or hive mentality. It's just a large group of people who are observing the same reality. Pointing out that you say stupid things is like pointing out that gravity exists. We independently observed the same evidence (your posts/things falling down) and independently arrived at the same evidence-based conclusion (you're an idiot/gravity is a thing). And then you post something like "I'm not gravity! You're gravity!" which confirms that you're not keeping up with what people are saying.

Maybe octopus is making a buzzing sound in an attempt to integrate with the hive.

It's cool. "Scut Farkus" is easier to remember anyway (as well as being an easier reference for most readers to pick up on).

And who wouldn't literally leap at an opportunity to type "Scut?"

Let's focus, people. This thread isn't about octopus; it's about HD's dumbshit post on Mexico.

But octopus stretches out into many threads in the Pit, wiggling tentacles infiltrating every thread, like a... A squid.

I just make up my own octopus posts now to save time:

10 PRINT "HIVE"
20 GOTO 10

Pretty near indistinguishable from his, contentwise.

This thread is a missed opportunity. The parody response to HShithead's thread could have been: Is Utah a failed state? Everyone could have made fun of that theocratic shithole and it wouldn't even have to be in the Pit.

Then HD would gripe about Utah oppressing the LDS church.

Uh, you need to give up yours because Gyrate was pointing at the BASIC programming language, there are no GOTO commands in GOAT. Not even in the GOAT simulator.

And if the reference you used was as an insult, some programmers refer to C or other advanced languages to be "Greatest Of All Time", but not in a flattering way, BASIC is not usually the target for that. So, Yeah, you need to read a manual at your skill level.

I tried to come up with a post about how HD is a failed poster because he's never suppressed an armed insurrection by drug lords, but the joke just wouldn't come together. So, clearly, there is nothing more to say on that topic.

Does the set of all people believing that the existence of billionaire drug lords in Mexico commanding private armies capable of out-matching the local police means Mexico is a failed state constitute a hive?
