Sing "Frosty the Snowman" to yourself. What's the last line?
I've always thought it was "On Christmas day", but listening to Christmas songs on the radio i've noticed most singers sing it as "again someday".
Which is it when you sing it to yourself? |

I've always heard and sung it as "Some Day."
It's not technically a Christmas song, just a seasonal song. |

Frosty only says on Christmas Day at the end of the cartoon but the song is just again someday

Again Someday because spring comes and Frosty melts - but he'll be back when winter returns

'Two eyes made out of coal', since the rest of the song is just 'doo doo doo'. >_>

I get to "two eyes made out of coal" and then there's a bunch of syllables until I hear there must have been some magic in the old silk hat they found that made him dance around when they placed it on his head. He dances around muttering until he comes "back again some daaaaaay!"

Back again someday.
And this is the version I hear in my head: http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&so...K1pU7nZAWrPe6g |

Yes, I've heard it like that. |

Because I sing variants of "Frosty" around the house that are different from the original, neither rings a bell. My last lines are more like:
Frosty the Snowman, Well he really had to go; So he found a tree And he had a pee, But then all he made was snow. So yeah, those don't ring a bell, but my family might like them better. |

Yeah, in my head the last bit is:
Thumpity thump thump Thumpity thump Look at Frosty go Thumpity thump thump Thumpity thump Over the hills of snow |

Likewise. Though for the verse the OP quotes, "again someday."

After the "Thumpity Thump Thump" verse, it's:
So he waved goodbye, Saying "Don't you cry! "I'll be back again someday!" ~VOW |

Not the version I'm familiar with. The thumping comes at the very end.

Inspired by the evil snowman movie Jack Frost (not to be confused with the comedy by the same name):
Frosty the Snowman Filled our hearts with fear But his greatest threat he saved for last: "I'll be back again next year! HO! HO!" |

As a kid I thought it was "back again Sunday" which seemed oddly specific and almost sort of religious.

Enough of the Disney version - here is the best version, if you aren't going to use the one from the show.

I put down Christmas Day out of instinct but now that I think of it, the other choice was the right one.

I remember one year, CBS censored the last line on the cartoon version. The only reason I can think of is, they didn't want kids to think the show would air again on 12/25.

This is the correct answer. This isn't an obscure folk song with multiple equally legitimate versions, it's a song still under license, written within our lifetimes.

My thought before I read the choices. Of the two options presented, however, definitely "again someday". I first remember singing the tune in school circa 1965.
