Cleopatra and Bubblegum - The Forgotten Song Lyric

Back in the mid to late seventies, a record reviewer in Rolling Stone made light of a song lyric, in comparison as I remember it, to the lyrics of 60s era Bob Dylan. Or at least to my memory he did. These specifics are however not relevant to my question, which is, does anyone remember this song? As I remember it the lyrics in question were along the lines of, and I apologize for the vagueness, something about bubblegum followed by something that rhymes with "smokes", followed by

"While Cleopatra sits and smokes."
