Surprised to hear veteran character actor Freddie Jones has died at 91, mostly because I thought he had already died about 20 years ago.

Former Cardinal Pitcher, Bob Gibson, is battling Pancreatic Cancer.

If anyone can throw one high and tight on Pancreatic Cancer, it would be Bob Gibson.

Gibson will glare at his pancreas until the cancer backs off.

If it doesn't he will throw a fastball that misses his pancreas by 1"

Charles levin died at 70.

I didn’t expect anyone to have him but it gives me an excuse to watch one of my favorite Seinfeld one-off characters again. RIP to The Mohel.

Also, I will truly miss Charles Levin. He endeared himself to me as Vera's husband on Alice and especially as Eddie, the gay character on Hill Street Blues who eventually develops AIDS. Over the years I was always happy to see him make a television appearance. I even saw him live on stage once in a production of City of Angels. RIP.

Ernie Broglio, the centerpiece of the best trade the Cardinals ever made, and the worst trade by the Cubs, has died at 89. Unfortunately for the Cubs, his right arm died in 1964.

Elijah “Pumpsie” Green, the first black player on the Boston Red Sox, has died. He was 85.

Green was called up during the 1959 season and played 4 seasons with Boston. The Red Sox were the last pre-expansion MLB team to integrate.

It was said that one should not speak ill of the dead; John Tanton, founder of racist and nativist zombie groups that regained strength thanks to Trump and like minded Republicans, is dead at 85.

I was unable to attend the funeral, but I sent ahead a pleasant letter saying that I approved of it.

(I had thought this to be SLClemmens, but it appears to have originated with one Eb Rockwood Hoar – and the deceased in question was an Abolitionist, so, maybe not the best line to use here, unless one might be striving for irony.)

Russi Taylor Dies: Voice Of Minnie Mouse since the 1980's Was 75

https://deadline.com/2019/07/russi-t...75-1202655753/

And not just the voice of Minnie:

Quote:
Russi’s other Disney voices have included Nurse Mouse in The Rescuers Down Under, as well as Donald’s mischievous nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and their friend Webbigail Vanderquack in the original DuckTales animated series. She also lent her voice to roles on other classic TV animated series like TaleSpin, The Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Kim Possible; as well as modern favorites that include Sofia the First, The Lion Guard, and Tangled: The Series.

Among the most famous roles on Russi’s impressive extended resume of credits are Strawberry Shortcake, Baby Gonzo (of Muppet Babies fame), Pebbles Flintstone, Duchess the Cat in the film Babe, and Ferny Toro in Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks. She also provided the voice of Martin Prince and the twins, Sherri and Terri, on more than 100 episodes of The Simpsons, as well as the blockbuster feature The Simpsons Movie.
RIP
