Il Douche tells us we can trust Kim, he knows him very well. Spent several hours with the man, took his measure. Like GeeDubya looked into Putin's soul.

And no, he did not run screaming from the room, that's just a story. Really, nobody knows how these internet things get started....

Realistically, what further good can come form the Singapore "summit?" I would estimate that there is no chance at all that Kim denuclearizes, or even makes anything but cosmetic moves in that direction. I suppose we can hope that continued dialog between North and South Korea accomplishes something.

Trump has set the stage for virtually anything we do in the Korean Peninsula to be labeled a provocation or a backing out of the "deal" by Kim Jon Un, particularly anything involving our military support and cooperation with South Korea. If Congress does anything to blunt the impact of Trumps reckless statement, KJU can just point to it as evidence of America's untrustworthiness, and as an added bonus, Trump gets to complain about Congress messing up the great deal that he made with Kim.

This is why prior Presidents haven't met with Kim. and why the real work of diplomacy happens among staffers, ahead of time, and over long periods of negotiations.

Where's that <putz> smiley when I need it?

Trump claims, preposterously, that parents of Korean War veterans came up to him during the 2016 campaign and said, "when you can, we'd love our son to be brought back home -- you know, the remains."

The Korean War ended in 1953.

"He's not Hillary! He's not Hillary! He's not Hillary! Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm".

I can't believe these idiots still stick to that mantra. We no longer have any allies. Strike that. In reality, because of Trump, the United States of America is no longer anyone's ally and, sadly, is no longer united.

Trumps handwaves away questions from Fox News (Fox NEWS !) about Kim's human rights records and executing political opponents by saying he's just a smart, tough guy and other people do bad things too. But Canadian cheese quotas ? That shit just won't stand !

Yeah, but it's a tough country! And he was really young! I mean, who wouldn't tie people to anti-aircraft guns, or feed them to dogs, in that same situation?

"Fake news" is now "the biggest enemy" of the United States in the world, says the most prominent purveyor of it. Russia? China? North Korea? ISIS? Global climate change? Pshaw: http://thehill.com/homenews/administ...-biggest-enemy

It's interesting to note how Trump and his cronies have managed to completely twist the meaning of the expression, from something that was and is genuinely problematic (that is to say, fictional stories presented as factual & disseminated in order to further an agenda, or to give the Snopes guys a reason to live) into "any bit of news that I don't personally believe in", "any news I don't agree with", "any coverageof somebody I like which is not a quasi-hagiographical". This because, of course, the side pushing hoaxes was accused of pushing hoaxes and immediately went into BothSidesDoIt overdrive.
I suppose it's only logical than in a post-reality world ; we would move on to post-meaning.

I also really like how Trump writes that "500 days ago CNN would have begged for this meeting, it looked like war would break out" - Yeah, because you were suddenly threatening to start lobbing nukes on Twitter, you utter git !

I have to admit, if I absolutely *had* to execute a guy ; and I happened to have a very large calibre gun lying around... I mean, the sheer morbid curiosity of it, you know ? Plus you put it on pay-per-view and that's a tax rebate right there !

It was just four days ago that Trump was complaining about how Justin Trudeau changed their supposed deal after Trump left. If Trump thinks he can't trust Trudeau, why does he feel he can trust Kim? If Trump can't read Trudeau, why should we believe he can read Kim?

You're doing that thing... that thing that doesn't work: trying to apply reason/logic to President PantsOnHead's attempts at thinking.

And the Party of Personal Responsibility Turncoats ignores it. Unlike the outrage expressed when Obama saluted his own military.

IIRC, it's also biblical to roast your offspring as a human offering.

Niiiice...

My favorite part of teaching Sunday School is deconstructing old Bible stories. When we get to Moses, I get to mention The Baal Movement (I tell 'em, "If you didn't groan at that, don't worry, you'll get plenty of other chances. I'm a dad, so I'll make that same joke a dozen times...").

It was good enough for Kali;
Though embracing her is folly,
She'd be quite an armful - golly!
Yes, that's good enough for me.

Not sure what this has to do with Trump but it's cheering me up somewhat.

So, just a little bit ago CNN showed Trump, Pence, and some other officials at a gathering of parents whose children were killed by illegal aliens.

Exploiting people's tragedy just so that he can say to critics, "You think I don't care about separating families? Well Fuck you! You're the ones who don't care!" Pisses me off. He doesn't care about those parents; He's just using them as propaganda. But they think he does care. This is so fucked up.

Well, yeah ... he's got to do something to counter all the images of crying children. He needs a visual to prop up his "immigrants = MS-13 and murderers and rapists" crap that keeps the base enraged.

(How do they get a group together so fast? Do they have a social network for Parents of Kids Who Were Killed by Illegal Immigrants?)

I recall that way back at the beginning of the current national nightmare, they set up a special hotline for the purpose of facilitating this sort of propaganda. The American people responded in droves to the call to "phone this number with reports of crimes by aliens". I myself reported an alien I saw participating in a brazen theft of laundry from a clothesline -- unfortunately, it seems that the authorities have failed to track down the perpetrator despite his distinctive mechanical-rice-picker-damaged ears.

That's nothing. Friend of mine had an illegal alien explode through his ribcage once. Right in the middle of dinner, boom, blood and guts everywhere. And this little asshole is smiling before he runs away. I don't think they ever caught the guy, either.

Of course Occupy White House doesn't want the courts involved in his business. Look at what happened back in New York. And make no mistake, he doesn't think the office of president is anything other than his business, to run how he sees fit.
