You wouldn't happen to be "CHEATING" would you? Because if you load a certain cheating script, it will do that to the golden cookies.

Not that I cheat, no way no sir. How do I know you ask? A little birdie told me!

You mean with the Cookie Monster? That is just the ROI changing when you get the 7x frenzy. It all goes back when it is over.

CRAPSTICKS!!! I only got that for the golden cookie autoclicker - I can't see the cookies on my screen and was missing them. OK - will remove that.

Anyone know of a good GC clicker/highligher?

The dev of the game has said here that he plans to eventually install sound and will make it so when Golden Cookies come up, it will play one. He seems to imply this is still far away, though.

You guys are smoking crack. Puzzles and dragons is the most addictive game ever. It's a similar pointless rpg that involves ever increasing levels but has a little more variety. iOS and android... See you in 4000 hours or so.

I don't get it at all.

WTF are you people seeing that's so addictive?

Are you required to take a puff or snort before "playing" this thing?

I'm baffled.

Why do people play any game? Because it amuses them, and they want to see what happens next.

For the record, I use no (illegal) mind-altering substances.

I have to say that I'm scratching my head too. How is this a game? What's its goal? After letting it run for a little over 7 hours and checking in every so often, I am now making 4,246,711.4 cookies per second.

I have 3 antimatter condensers, and a bunch of portals and time machines. Every couple of hours I come back and "buy" another condenser or portal or two. I've clicked on a couple of cookies that appeared on the screen and have gotten some bonuses. I've also gotten some achievements. I now have over ten billion cookies and counting.

Is there something else to this? Am I missing something? If not, I think I'm going to pack it in.

Oh come on... I can understand why some games are played, and others become an obsession. But this? This isn't a "game". It requires no skill. And yet, people are addicted to it? Why? What's the obsession? No one can articulate a goal. It seems to be a pointless program, running on your computer to do what again? Gain cookies? For what reason? It amuses you? How is that possible? What are you amused by? The number of cookies? Yippee

This is like a snipe hunt. I'm not buying it.

I'm glad (but amazed) you are not on any mind-altering substances.

I think you can put it down to the old adage that there's no accounting for taste.

I can articulate my goal: To get 100% of the achievements and upgrades.

As to why it's so addictive, I think it's the pacing: No matter how far you go, there's always something that feels like it's just around the corner, so there's no sense in giving up now, just before you would have gotten that.

OK, so I bought the research upgrade and have angry grannies. I don't see any adverse effects, am I missing something?

Some or all (depending on how angry they are) of your golden cookies have been replaced by red cookies. Red cookies have a different set of possible outcomes from golden ones, including some bad outcomes. Don't worry too much about it until you get the third upgrade for golden cookies (the one that increases their duration): Once you get that, you should start buying Elder Pledge whenever you're sitting in front of your computer, because with the increased duration, golden cookies have a high chance of giving you a Lucky while you're still in a Frenzy, which is a huge windfall beyond anything the Red Cookies can give you. Before then, though, the value of red and golden cookies are comparable.

Never buy the Elder Covenant, except just once right before you're about to reset anyway just for the achievement. Repeatedly buying Pledges will always be cheaper than the 5% loss from the Covenant.

And if you don't know what I'm talking about with Pledges and Covenants, then you haven't gone all the way into the Grandmapocalypse yet.

I'm curious as to what you think about cRPGs.

"So what do you do in your WoW guild?"
"We raid twice a week"
"And what do you do there?"
"We attempt to clear out all the monsters in a particular dungeon."
"And what do you get for that"
"We get new gear with better stats"
"And what can you do with the new gear?"
"When we all get geared up, we can go on to the next dungeon."

Really, this is the same thing, except you don't have to deal with the basement-Napoleon shouting "50 DKP MINUS" in your ear over Vent.

To be honest, I have never understood the appeal of RPGs, so of that's what you need to understand this game, you may have found why I fail to get it. And I'm glad I don't get it, if that's the case.

115 alchemy labs 460,000 cps
110 portals 7.3 million cps
100 time machines 86.9 million cps

Have you ever reset? How many Heavenly Chips do you have? I've reset twice now with stats like that. Those last 20 Antimatter Condensers get ridiculously expensive, and it's worth starting over at a higher speed.

I haven't reset yet. It is getting boring because the only thing I can buy is a antimatter condenser but they cost 577,266,587,829,736 now. I'm at 85 anti condensers with 952 golden cookies. I really don't even know what a heavenly cookie is.

Cookies baked alltime currently...8,462,232,933,434,741. I'm thinking I wait until I reach 11.5.

I'm kinda glad i'll be gone for a few days. I guess i'm gonna hide my laptop in the basement so my wife doesn't see it and leave it running. I'm contemplating whether or not to reset now though. I kinda wanna leave it running without resetting and then reset when I get back.

In fairness, that's games in general, no?

"So what do you do in this 'Chess?'"
"We move little carved pieces around on a board."
"And how do you move them?"
"Following set rules that never change."
"And what do you get if you win?"
"We switch colors and start over."

And perhaps even more so:

"So what do you do with this 'NFL Football?'"
"We watch other people run around on a field somewhere..."
"And why do you care if they win?"
"Because they're OUR TEAM. They represent us! Even through almost none of the team members are natives of here!"

In a generalized sense, sure.

Heck, just about everything in life can be simplified down to a Skinner box. And there's nothing wrong with that, particularly if you happen to like the taste of the pellets.

Up to 324 Rasberry milk after getting the uncanny clicker achievment. Still with no resets and I have 81 out of 88 achievments.

Does anyone know how I can refresh for the updates? I'm afraid I will erase everything if I do it wrong.

I don't think it matters because it goes by cookies baked, not current amount of cookies.

I never sold off anything though (except for one grandma), so you might want to wait for confirmation.

To dunk the cookie, you just need to minimize your screen. Also you can get another achievment when you get the uncanny clicker. You will need to click on your laptop browser and mouse at the same time. Least thats how I got it. I also read that you need 7,777 golden cookies for some type of hidden achievment.

I typed in cookie clicker upgrades and theres a site that tells you alot of useful information.

Yeah I looked it up and it said around 20 days ago it was worth selling your buildings but now it's cookies baked alltime under the new format.

I picked up three shadow achievements on the new upgrade:

Speed baking I, II, and III. They're getting to one million cookies in the first 25, 20, and 15 minutes respectively. It actually only took me 8.

Oh wait. 35, 25, 15. I guess there might also be a 5 minute one. Don't know. I'll try that on my next reset.

97 Antimatter Condensers, 88/92 achievs. Not long now, then I'll have to reset and cheat my way through the mystery achievs.
