As in Stu Miller, the SF Giants pitcher who got ďblown off the mound at Candlestick ParkĒ at the 1961 All Star Game. Thatís the embellished version. Candlestick Park was known for its wind and fog. In truth, a strong gust of wind caused Miller to sway slightly, resulting in a balk.

So yeah, Miller is a type of Stu.

2018 Summer Plans

1. Working. New job, no vacation days accrued. Some short weekend trips. Nothing too exciting.
2. 5 weeks on my island in Georgian Bay and fixing up a little 14' runabout with a 50hp with my kids.
3. Mostly staying home, but also a week on the beach in Nags Head, N.C., and a long weekend in Nawlins visiting my five best high school buddies
4. My baby girl, youngest of 3, turns 30 on Saturday. So itíll be a beach picnic that day.
5. Festival of the Eno
6. Spend a little time hitting breweries in Southwest Michigan.
7. Get my motorcycle back up and running again. Get back to riding it, and using it to commute to work. Bay Area traffic sucks.
8. Starting my next novel, which will be the one that finally gets me an agent--I hope!
9. Going up to NYC on an Amtrak train to see my friend Adam play the Rabbi in a Yiddish production of Fiddler on the Roof.
