He made me laugh at things I should never have believed in the first place, and I cannot thank him enough.

He still has a show, every week. Just because you haven't heard of it, means nothing.
Au contraire, mon frere. At the absolute least, it means that it has not been successfully marketed at him.

At this point I'm half convinced we can take Fan out of the OP's username.

God bless all of you because I felt like an idiot reading the OP and having no idea who any of those people are. And I’m not a kid (I’m in my 40s) and consider myself reasonably informed about things. I’m glad these are obscure references and not something I should know about.

I get those references, I’m a Kovacs fan and I’ve watched “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, and I at least know who Phil Silvers was (Sergeant Bilko!).

I don't know who Mort Sahl is either, but I also haven't seen the OP bring him up except in a thread he specifically made about him, or when people ask him who he is.

And boomers using "okay boomer" is precious. This is a boomer board, guys.

He mentioned him in the OP of this thread.

I thought Mort Sahl was before my time and long gone. (Perhaps I conflated him with Lenny Bruce.) Now I learn he's after my time!

I have a new search term to type in next time I'm at YouTube.

I bet his take on the Six-Day War is a real hoot.
What's the deal with airline food? Since they started using jets, you barely have time to get through the whole meal!

No, he was my dad's accountant, and Dad only hired him because he claimed he used to work for Lenny Bruce.
