Fresh from the oven! The poster that was supposed to be in the last update but didn't make it due to an error on my part can now be seen disguised as Optimus Prime!

Added new photos to the gallery: C K Dexter Haven, C3, cwthree, DooWahDiddy, fusoya, ianzin, KennerTheGreat, Mahaloth, needscoffee, Neverender, PlainJain, Poysyn, Pyper, Reply, Tibbytoes, willthekittensurvive?, Wolverine

modified: black rabbit—added photo, PapSett—added photo, Sunspace—added photos

This will probably be the last update until after Christmas, but this doesn't mean that posters are supposed to stop sending in photos. A great number of our posters are still not represented.

As for the date, it was last spring or summer. I can't quitw make out the calendar on the wall behind me in the photo.
I don't understand! The "enhance" command on my computer doesn't work at all! On CSI or Law and Order they never have this problem. The best I could make out was a three-letter-month, so I just put May 2009 as the date on your photo.

Not as huge as it may seem, but even though I'm still accepting photos, don't expect any updates until after Christmas.

Too... strange! None of you look like what I envisioned

So who, so far, wins the most mismatched username+pic prize?

Heh, Sir T-Cups looks just like I imagined him: goofy in a cute way (or is it cute in a goofy way?). No offense meant, of course.

Haha yeah? That's funny because I think people who know me in reality would probably describe me that way too. (at least to my face)

Frankly you look a lot like a girl I went to high school with.....

(btw that is SO the compliment of the day for me....thanks!)

Ahhh, that was my intention…to pick a name so off-putting that even the reality of my appearance would seem a pleasant surprise…

Seriously, thank you very much!

The information about the original Arnold Winkelried was very interesting. He was a brave man. The Swiss people have every reason to be proud of themselves.

Now when I see your user name, instead of picturing a wrinkled old man named Arnold, I'll picture someone like Arnold Schwartzenegger.

I gave mine, but see it not. Perhaps I am hexed. Or at least vexed.

If there was confusion, Arnold, the picture was taken Easter morning at sunrise at my wedding. I am the groom.

Mr. Batty, there is one photo that was sent to me from an unknown e-mail address with no poster name mentioned in the e-mail. I replied to the e-mail saying "what is your SDMB username?" Check your spam folder.

Yes that is you. Your name was my first guess because I thought I remembered seeing a picture of you once before sometime in the past. But please confirm the e-mail anyway!
I'll add your photo at the next gallery update.

When you said "Arno", I thought that maybe you were referring to some common German first name. One of my high school german teachers (a Swiss German person) was named Arno Aeby. I always wondered why he was named after a river in Florence. Is Arno popular as a first name in Germany?
