I'd be very happy to see Bryan Cranston recreate this particular gem.

Aw, c'mon! They don't make camp like that anymore. Or at least, they don't take camp like that that seriously anymore.

Looks like Kelly accidentally left Donnie's phone where Two Scoops could find it. The Orangutan in Chief is trying to make up for lost time with it.

Actually no, but sarcasm duly noted.

If my memory hasn't gone to shit, George W Bush decided North Korea was not going to demand the old "give us stuff or we'll be bad" bullshit and get away with it anymore. As did Clinton, Obama, and it seems like everybody else, in the history of always.

They (NK) were using the threat of acting like an asshole, as a form of extortion. And then when they DID get stuff, they'd break the deal and be assholes anyway.

Both Obama and Bush had choice words. Obama at first took a “conciliatory” route, but ultimately returned to sanctions and tough talk.

The Bush administration, as well as Japan, South Korea, China and Russia, got the North to agree to and start holding six-party talks in August 2003 that eventually led to an agreement to cease nuclear testing in 2007. In exchange, the North would receive 950,000 metric tons of fuel oil or economic aid worth the same.
And as Bush was preparing to leave the White House, he even wrote a personal letter to then-leader Kim Jong Il, hoping that the deal would stay in place. Still, in 2009, the North launched a rocket and the agreement fell apart.

Like Bush, Clinton too came close to halting the North’s nuclear programs in 1994. In October of that year, about three months after Kim Sung Il died and Kim Jong Il had yet to formally take power, Clinton managed to strike a deal that would give the North oil and promised financing worth $4 billion—with the South, Japan, Russia, Germany and the U.S. each chipping in—to build light-water nuclear reactors that would be constructed in a way to make difficult converting waste into bomb materials. And that went to shit too.

You can't deal with those assholes. Best to just quarantine them.

If it were up to me, I'd hack into their shit and direct their missiles to start landing on Li'l Kim's fucking house.

You are wrong there. Trump knows that no one until him has been able to deal with NK. He has had many stern talkings to them, increased sanctions, and even had the gall to call their leader "Rocket Man"! And look at the results and success: Since Trump's inauguration there have been ONLY 22 missiles fired from NK. There were 24 fired in 2016 so he has limited them to far less than under OBAMA. You can bet the farm that Rocket Man is done for the year.

Standing ovations all around!

I'd rather be known to the world as Rocket Man than Barking Dog:
Quote:
Responding to Trump’s recent threat to “totally destroy” North Korea, Pyongyang Wednesday compared the president’s remarks to “the sound of a barking dog.”

Speaking to reporters outside his New York hotel Wednesday, Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho dismissed Trump’s warnings as empty rhetoric.

When asked about the president’s snarky “Rocket Man” put-down of leader Kim Jong un, Ri said: “I feel sorry for his aides.”

“If he was thinking he could scare us with the sound of a dog barking, that’s really a dog dream,” Ri said. In Korean, a dog dream is one that makes little sense, according to the Korean Herald.

It feels like only yesterday when we had threads here shortly after Trump was elected and a few people, including myself, worried (although I thought it unlikely) that Trump might start a nuclear war. And we were mocked for that. It was ridiculous we were told. Not even Trump is that incompetent! Oh how I wish we lived in a world where there really was no chance Trump might start a nuclear war.

All right, so I got bored:

He kicked me out last night, mid-tweet
Get my phone back, six AM
And I’m gonna be mad, so I may bite by then.

I miss my phone so much, I miss my life
It’s lonely in my head
And such a timeless life

And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
When Master brings back into my life
I’m not a dog until I have my phone,
Oh, no, no, no… I’m the Barking Dog!

Barking Dog… loves to Tweet whenever he’s alone!

And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
When Master brings back into my life
I’m not a dog until I have my phone,
Oh, no, no, no… I’m the Barking Dog!

I ain’t the sort of dog, to raise my kids
In fact, it’s boring as hell
And there’s no one to tweet… if I did
And all that science, I don’t understand
The facts are lies, the lies are truth.

A Barking DooOOOOooog. A Barking dog.

And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
When Master brings back into my life
I’m not a dog until I have my phone,
Oh, no, no, no… I’m the Barking Dog!

Barking Dog… loves to Tweet whenever he’s alone!

And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
When Kelly brings back into my life
I’m not a dog until I have my phone,
Oh, no, no, no… I’m the Barking Dog!

And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time
And I think I’m gonna bark a long, long time

Thanks! It was a group effort, though.

This morning's dustup between Trump, LeBron James, and Steph Curry is priceless. Coming after that completely deranged speech last night, he even has the NFL releasing statements and players commenting left and right.

Yeah. Nothing like stirring up a little animus towards black athletes to distract people from his Russia problems. Or his Obamacare problems. Or his expiring travel ban. Or his failed Wall project. Or his weird kids. Or his mancrush on Turkish thugs. Or his charity fraud.

It's getting kind of hard to keep track.

I'm just imaging how it's going at the White House.

"How did the President's speech go?"
"Well, there's good news and bad news."
"What's the good news?"
"As you know, we have a list of things the President has said and done that we're trying to divert public attention away from. And his attack on football last night succeeded in diverting public attention away from all the items on the list."
"What's the bad news?"
"We now have to add last night's speech to the list."

I'm not seeing anything diverting from anything. No matter the focus of the hour, I'm still seeing a lot of coverage of all the other scandals.

Plus no matter what Trump tries, we have Robert Mueller toiling away, bit by bit, slowly but surely building his case. I expect great things from him when he finally wraps this up.

From him, maybe. Then Republicans can say how concerned and troubled they are by what the investigation reveals before going back to enabling Trump.

I would feel reassured if I knew that Mueller had one eye on the doomsday clock when he was thinking about how long this should take.

Golden State Warriors tell Trump to fuck off

Okay, they were more diplomatic than that...
Quote:
The Warriors say they’re “disappointed that we did not have an opportunity during this process to share our views or have open dialogue on issues impacting our communities that we felt would be important to raise.”
I like it tho. Trump disrespected a Golden State Warrior and the team opted to stick together and back their teammate. As a proud Union member, I approve of this action.

Just so we're clear, the president is now wholly in favor of political correctness?

I've seen speculation that Trump is still butt hurt over not getting to own an NFL team, and stuff from the USFL days.

Well, let's not forget that the last time Trump took on the NFL he won.

$3 is what the jury awarded the USFL, but, still, a win is a win!

Hmm I wonder if he just made sitting for the anthem the Official NFL Protest® Against the Dotard? I guess the numbers tomorrow will tell, both on the field and in the stands.

I don't usually point at titles of articles, but in this case this Huffignton Post article title does say it all:
