Any data on people who vote Republican out of aversion for left rather than an embrace of the right?

I'm wondering if any legit studies or polls exist that attempt to identify reasons why people vote Republican (and/or for Trump) that include some attempt at determining whether the voter really supports the Republican platform/conservative ideas/etc. or whether they just "hate PC culture, libtards and SJW's". Anyone know of such studies? Thanks!

According to this source from two years ago, 43% of Republicans consider themselves Republican because they oppose what Democrats stand for.

(It's similar for the Democrats, too; 40% of them say they are D's because they oppose what Republicans stand for.)

The term for it is 'negative partisanship', where you are motivated by hate/fear of the other party than love for your own party. THere are lots of articles written about it if you want more info.

In 1994, 21 percent of Republicans held a “very unfavorable” view of the Democratic Party, a 2016 Pew study found. That number jumped to 32 percent in 2008 and 58 percent this year.

“The animosity is mutual. And it’s growing.”
Democratic voters have followed a similar pattern, according to Pew. In 1994, 17 percent held a “very unfavorable” view of the Republican Party. That percentage climbed to 37 percent in 2008, and 55 percent in 2016.
