Puerto Rico, natural disasters, and vote impact

Odd thought perhaps ...

Obviously Puerto Rico is reeling and after hurricane and then earthquakes, with spotty power, and many homes unlivable, I've been imagining a fair number pulling up stakes and moving stateside over this next year.

Historically the biggest U.S. Puerto Rican populations are New York and Florida, with a few others, including Pennsylvania, also having fair sized populations. One can guess that those who pull up stakes would favor those locations.

Puerto Ricans with "established residency" stateside can vote in U.S. elections.

Any thoughts on any meaningful political impact if a sizable number of Puerto Ricans do decide enough is enough and move stateside? The demographic generally has low turnout but we know how a even a few thousand even can make the difference in a Florida ...

Expect strong moves toward disenfranchisement and suppression, as usual.
