When you close the office door, jump around making noise for a few minutes, then reemerge from your office slightly dishelved, perspiring, well that's how office rumors begin.

I pride myself on regularly going for walks to keep my fitness up. Except through winter that usually slows down. And before that I was very busy for a whole year and didn't get many chances to get out much. And the weather's been so unpredictable even in the nice seasons. And other excuses that mean, when I went for a basic 20 minute walk to the local shopping centre last week, I was so completely exhausted I had to sit down twice before walking back home again.

I am so totally out of "shape"* that I'm not going to even attempt jumping jacks.

I hope I can get my fitness back up again over summer, but I am days away from turning 48, I'm no spring chicken anymore, and I may be reaching limits.

*Never actually been in shape, currently just barely this side of pudgy
