Men in Black International (open spoilers ok)

For some stupid reason, I thought the film opened next weekend, now Iím stuck waiting until tomorrow to see it in IMAX. Iím a huge fan of the franchise, Iíve seen all of them multiple times and own them all on DVD.

If youíve seen it, go ahead and tell us what you think. Open spoilers are fine and itís in the thread title.

Iíll post my review tomorrow.

Saw it. I'm not a fan of the series, but I think I've actually seen them all (let's face it, when a series of movies is released over a 22 year period, it's not hard to keep up).

It's not doing too well critically (24% at Rotten Tomatoes), but frankly, my review is: not that bad. If if I remember the other movies correctly, it's not as good as the original, but better than the 3rd one, so maybe in the goodness range of number 2? Anyway, I enjoyed the chemistry of the leads, let the plot holes drift by without disturbance, and ignored the fact that the character "twist" at the end was obvious from the character's first scene.

Iíve never been able to get into the movies. The problem I have is the casual use of the neuralyzer. The MIB are supposed to be good guys but go around wiping peopleís memories, and the movies treat that like itís no big deal. I canít look past the causal treatment of something serious like wiping out memories.

I rank them:

1: The Original, great film, seen it probably 100 times.
2: MIB 3. A very very good film, almost as good as the original. Seen it 50 times at least
3: MIB 2. Hmm, I donít hate it as much as the critics, but it should have been better. Seen it 25 times or so.

Canít wait to see MIB international tomorrow

I saw it this weekend and I thought it was decent. Nothing can really come close to the chemistry that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith had with world-weary veteran who's seen it all training the new "outside the box" maverick guy. By comparison, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are fine in their roles but they're both just kind of "there." Kumail Nanjiani is good as Pawny but I couldn't decide if there should have been more or less with him, so I guess that's good. There was one shout out to Agents J and K in an art piece hanging in High T's office, so that's a nice tie in. I am a little disappointed that High T was compromised by the Hive but it was a decent twist as was setting up the dancing alien twins as villains but making it a little more complicated, though I'm not quite sure how Agent M figured it out.

According to the trivia in IMDB, this movie was supposed to cross over with the 21 Jump Street movies, I am glad that this did not happen.
