Graphic Design - Logos, Business Cards, Illustrators

Man, this came at just the right time. I am currently unemployed and trying to start freelancing. So, if you need any sort of graphics work done, I'm your gal!

Stuff I've done:
- logos
- business cards
- vectorizing
- flyers and brochures
- illustrations
- web banners, including animated ones (no Flash, sorry)
- basic websites (HTML, CSS, existing scripts. Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer and never could manage to learn Flash)
- character design
- comics

You can see a lot of my work at www.lydeanworks.com. It's a little behind (I'm in the middle of revamping it) so if you need examples of something specific, please email me and I probably have it.

I generally charge $20/hr, but can wheel and deal (for example, business cards are $100).

Just wondering how the freelancing is going? I'm thinking about starting the same type of gig...

That seems like a pretty steep price for someone just getting started. There's a lot of potential there, though, if you keep working on it. Have you thought about taking some classes? It could go a long way toward helping you improve your style. Especially things like fonts and layouts and proper spacing.

I work with graphic designers at our company (among other things, but I don't direct what they do) and a lot start off this way. But lower your prices, take some classes, and do some internships. Freelancing is okay if you're established.

Hope that helps!

I'm not sure why this is getting bumped, but since it is...

I'm not trying to do freelance any more. I'll do it if it comes up, but I have a full-time job that takes care of things.

Ahoy your feedback would be a lot more useful if you pointed out what exactly you were nitpicking. The site? Specific pieces?

I have a degree in Art with a graphic design focus, as well as about seven years as a professional in various small businesses. More classes aren't really going to help much design wise. For California my prices seem reasonable (it's only four more dollars than I was getting as a salary). And my teachers, bosses, and customers all seemed to really like my work. Obviously that doesn't mean I'm good, just that whatever I was doing was good enough. It may have just been because I can spell, unlike many of my colleagues my age.

But like I said, I'm not trying to freelance any more.
