Just saw Buckaroo Banzai for the eight millionth time and loved it all over again. Quite a few people in the cast with ST credits:

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Clancy_Brown

And ST later had several Easter eggs related to the movie:

The episode "Shore Leave".
Who was the woman Kirk saw and decided to spend time with?
The clothes suggest "A Taste of Armageddon".

Ruth? Played by Shirley Bonne?

Are you confusing her with Mea 3, played by Barbara Babcock?

Stanley ("Cyrano Jones") Adams (again) as Tybo (the CarrotMan) in, "Lost in Space: The Great Vegetable Rebellion." [Some day, I'm a-gonna get really tanked and watch that epi. "Moisture! I need moisture!"]

Shatner was in a TVM of "Hound of the Baskervilles," and had a run-in with some quicksand.

Yes, from 1972, just three years after ST:TOS wrapped. I saw the movie on TV when I was a kid, and his death scene really stayed with me. Just saw the movie again not long ago and it was pretty cheesy.

I watched that scene again, I'm going with Shirley Booth. Unusual half and half costuming, though.

My favorite line in this movie came when one of the hard-bitten Feds is reporting to his superior officer after tracking down a suspect:

"Have you ever spent ten nights in a Turkish bath looking for a man?"

Just saw Quentin Tarantino's 1997 crime thriller Jackie Brown, and Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar in TNG) and Sid Haig (one of the Lawgivers from TOS "Return of the Archons) both appear briefly in the same scene, as an LA public defender and a judge, respectively.

Crosby was also in one or two episodes of The Walking Dead - the leader of the cannibals at Terminus, IIRC.

Surely JB came out in 1995, no? Michael Keaton even says as much when he and Jackie rendezvous in the parking ramp.

I just finished watching "Negative Reaction," the episode of Columbo starring Dick van Dyke and featuring Antoinette "Sylvia" Bower and Michael "Dr Roger
Corby" Strong.

Bonus points: Vito "Major Bonacelli" Scotti (from Hogan's Heroes) and Larry "Cpl Randolph Agarn" Storch (from F Troop).

Huh. I would swear I saw it on board an airliner in 1995, going back to the US for a visit. I remember thinking "Well, I'll never forget the year I first saw this movie."

Last night I watched Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks's charming 2004 comedy/romance The Terminal, and spotted Zoe Saldana (Uhura in the ST reboot movies, here playing a Trekker who even flashes the Vulcan hand salute!), Michael Nouri (a Vulcan in one episode of ST Enterprise) and Jude Ciccolella (a Romulan commander in ST Nemesis).

Known as Alexander Siddig since the fourth season of DS9 since he discovered that viewers didn't know how to pronounce Siddig El Fadil.

Holy crap! I know her from Seinfeld and the recent Dallas reboot. I had no idea she was in TNG. (I remember that episode but not her, sadly. )

I shall always think of her as *The Braless Wonder.*

Recently watched an old (1989) TV movie on YouTube called "Twist of Fate". The leads were Ben Cross and Bruce Greenwood, who appeared in ST: 09 as Sarek and Christopher Pike, respectively. John Glover also had a prominent role, in a rare turn (for him) as a good guy.

Just realized that Elizabeth Dennehey, who played Cmdr. Shelby in two memorable episodes of ST:TNG, is also in Red Dragon, playing an FBI criminologist. The DVD extras of the movie include a scene with Frank Langella, who played a scheming Bajoran politician on DS9, providing the voice of the evil alter ego of Ralph Fiennes's character; the director decided the scene worked better without the voiceover, however, and cut it.

Walter "Pavel Chekov" Koenig as Swedish businessman "Gunnar" in the Gidget episode "Gidget's Foreign Policy." His Swedish accent is pretty much indistinguishable from his Russian accent.

This episode was written by Stephen Kandel, the creator of Harry Mudd in Star Trek: TOS.

Also in this episode is Brooke Bundy, aka "Sarah MacDougal," one of the Chief Engineers disposed of in the first season of Star Trek: TNG ("The Naked Now"). Brooke plays Gunnar's fiancée "Inge."

Her Swedish accent is even worse than Walter's.

Sabrina "Miramanee" Scharf as Daniel J Travanti's fiancée in the Gidget episode "Now, There's a Face!"

This one is a real hoot. Gidget (15 1/2) falls in love with Travanti (supposedly 24), a photographer and former GI she meets on the beach. Nowadays, you'd see this scenario in a documentary on serial killers.

Of course, it's all very innocent. It turns out Travanti is engaged, and he's so wrapped up in his career (photographing jail bait on the beach; nice work, if you can find it) he can't imagine that Gidget might be in love with him. Naturally, Gidget's dad is very understanding and sympathetic. He would never dream of telling the young man to stay away from his underage daughter.

This even tops the scene in yesterday's episode where Gunnar puts Inge over his knee and spanks her when he finds out she's been acting like a typical American teenager. It was definitely a different era!

!
In a different episode, Gidget falls in love with a fellow she meets on the beach over the summer - and in September, she learns that he's her math teacher at the high school.
