St. Louis lost its team. The least you could have done was leave us with our records.
I am absolutely blown away that the Lions didn't hold that record.

Feel okay about this one. 0-16 meets 3-13, and gets a tie. Steelers fans definitely feel like that's a loss, so it should feel like a win of sorts to me, right?

Denzel Ward got absolutely no preseason and very little draft hype but he was incredible for his first game. Two picks, some great coverage plays, just really impressive. I was surprised when they drafted him because I hardly heard a peep during the pre-draft process, but he's looking like a hit.

Ward did have a great game. I think he got a good amount of hype pre-draft, but maybe that's because I'm in Central Ohio and you can't escape Buckeye homerism.

Somebody said a tie is like kissing your sister. I suppose it's better than getting beat up by your sister 16 times running, but I worry the Browns are raising expectations too high.

The Browns just needed to get rid of Joe Thomas. Nothing but dead weight for his entire career.

He’s from my hometown, graduated from my high school. So Ward has been the most important Browns story since before the draft! Woohoo!

Go Browns1 Was out of the country and didn't watch Steelers game, and was surprised when I saw the final score. Wasn't expecting them to keep it so close. They have much more talent now but many believe the HC is terrible and they won't become a good team as long as he is there.

And, apparently exhausted by clawing their way up to mediocrity, the Browns return to form. They looked OK for a while, there. Unfortunately, they can pack more suck into one quarter than most teams can into a whole season.

Why would anyone trade for Gordon after the Browns announced they intend to release him? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just sign him as a free agent?

If you trade for him, you get him. If you wait for him to be cut, anyone else can get him.

The question is why you'd want him.

Reports are that they are trying out Blair “Wide Left” Walsh who cost the Vikings a wild card game a couple years ago and who single-handedly cost a couple games last year for Seattle (which led to them missing the playoffs for the first time in years). Look luck with that head case!

The Pats are known for giving players second chances. They also known for immediately moving on when those players do not live up to their expectations. It could be a very short marriage.

Gordon has indeed been traded to the Pats.

Browns have signed Rod Streater, ex of the Raiders and Niners, who was rejected by the Bills after playing with them in pre-season. Good pickup there.

Congratulations to everyone who had Baker Mayfield in the first half of Game 3 in the replacement sweepstakes.

The Browns are feisty, I'll give them that. I would have happily taken the Jets and laid three.

I don't know if Taylor was told to fake an injury, but he just wasn't getting the job done, and you see the whole team light up when Mayfield came in.

I’m not sure what you can tell about a player in one half against the Jets, but there have been worse starts, especially for Browns rookie quarterbacks.

I have to admit, he seems confident, accurate, has a cannon, and is kind of elusive. Not too bad of a combo, really. Im interested to see how things go when a bunch of tape exists.

So if Hue Jackson and the Browns pull out this victory, can we expect a 10 year extension worth about 15 million/year?

Sheesh, even Baker Mayfield is taking a knee, and in his first start! This is outta control.

Who'da'thunk the Browns would finally get the win thanks to a rookie #1 pick quarterback playing almost flawlessly and a stout defense?

Let the Bud Light flow!

Good, the Browns won, hopefully they party too hard and don't put up much fight next week against the Raiders.

Good for the Browns. I like the idea of them having a decent young QB the franchise can build a team around.

Plus it’s the Bills’ turn anyway to be “that team”.

Congratulations to the Browns. About time.

Now, per our local radio guy, Sean Pendergast, the Texans are the team in the NFL with the longest span of time since they've won a football game (that counts.). https://twitter.com/SeanTPendergast/...83098084782081

306 days, if you were interested. I'm not confident they'll beat the Giants this week, either.

Jesus, what a difference a few weeks makes.

The Texans better win. I ended up with Miller and their defense!

And (Eagle) Hats Off to the Browns! Fantastic game! Since week one tying Steelers, we knew a win was coming soon! Now who's the second victim, Señor? I'm sure more are coming.

And by Eagle hats, I mean you had our second sneaky Philly Dilly play down! I call it the BROWINE WOWNIE! (Our bar was cheering like hell hell for Cleveland)

Make the BW T-shirt's, and congrats on an AWESOME, awesome win! GO BROWNS!

2/2 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points. WOOT!

Brown's receivers were so excited they forgot to catch few balls on the final TD drive. Landry played well but his chest must hurt from one of the bullets. Defense played well. Good game to back up the solid play against the Steelers and Saints.

Good for the Browns and, more importantly, the fans of the Browns. I think I like Mayfield's media persona ("we're just getting started" last night and his handling of Colin Cowherd), but I can also see it getting annoying after awhile. Congrats.

I'll post more after getting home and rewatching but Mayfield is the guy. You can just see it. Everyone snapped to life when he came in. If he plays the first 2 games the Browns are undefeated. They almost were anyway.

Taylor couldn't live up to the savvy game manager reputation. I have to assume he's benched. If Hue is dumb enough to trot him out again that should be an instant firing.

I need to rewatch but I only saw one bad read. Everything else was correct, quick, and on the money. His stat line looks amazing if you add the drops that hit the receivers in the hands. They apparently were not ready for balls with zip.

One more thing. I don't remember Isiah Crowell being a huge douche, but his TD celebration (wiping his ass with the ball and throwing it into the stands) was both vile and a crappy shot at the Cleveland fanbase. Shitty thing to do. Especially when you average 2.1 yards per carry for the game.

What little I saw of Mayfield impressed me. That said, it wouldn't be unlike Hue to play three card monte with his quarterback selections moving forward.

My condolences. I am not a fan of Miller at all, and I suspect that Foreman and Blue may poach a lot of his carries when Foreman comes off the unable to perform list.

The defense is better, but I'd really like to see them operating in sync for once. They should have annihilated that Titans line, and didn't. Though Gabbert/Vrabel did compensate by abbreviating his drops and taking long passes out of the playbook. I "hope" they can stop Barkley and Beckham this weekend, but I've a lot less faith in that than I did three weeks ago.

Mayfield is going to be a stud, right up until the League gets sufficient tape on him. Then we'll see how he adjusts. Should be fun for Browns' fans until that happens though.

Exactly. I hate to see rookie QBs thrown in. Haven't watched the game yet - taped it - but sounds like Mayfield had a great game. But that's just one half of one game; I'd be very happy if Taylor came out again for the majority of games, and let Mayfield play a half every now and again, until he's comfortable. I always go back to Steve Young, Aaron Rogers, and Andrew Luck, two great and one good quarterbacks; I firmly believe that part of the reason they're so good was getting to learn from Joe Montana, Brett Farve, and Peyton Manning. Not that Tyrod Taylor is another Montana or Manning, but he's a veteran, and I'd like to see him run interference for Mayfield for a while.
