Meet a Mod (and an Admin) for lunch on Saturday?

Atlanta area Dopers: Ric Wayman (your Mod Rico) will be making a lunchtime visit on Saturday as he's passing through town. Sorry for the short notice, but anybody want to meet us at the home of "What'll ya have?" (The Varsity on North Avenue over by Georgia Tech.) The grease level in your blood was getting a little low anyway ... ETA 1-2 pm.

Yes, THIS Saturday.

I can't be there, but if y'all could just email or fax me a pimento cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato on wheat with a side of rings, I'd really appreciate it.

It could be worse. We could be meeting at the Clermont Lounge. (Another time.)

Aw, man, I'm out of town this weekend - too far even for a naked dog walking. Any excuse for Varsity is a good one, but TubaDiva and Rico would ramp it up a couple of notches.

And Bo, you forgot the F.O.!

Sorry, brother; those things were ruined for me before I ever got to Atlanta. The reason? My father was a big fan of Orange Julius.

Oh, this is so much better!

Unfortunately ... Ric has had to change his plans and he will not be able to come through Atlanta. FWIW I'm still getting my chili dog onion ring frosted orange fix on Saturday but if you decide it's okay to give it a pass, no harm, no foul. Otherwise look around 1 pm for the red headed fat woman enjoying her lunch over by the North Avenue Trade School. And we'll catch up with Ric another, better time. Sorry folks.

Mini Dopefest! Sorry I saw this too late - I was near North Avenue earlier today. Would have loved to meet TubaDiva, get her drunk on Frosted Oranges and onion rings, and find out all the mod secrets, like where they get their jackboots, and how she decides which spammer to feed to the squid and the goat. Another time!

I used to live about 150 yds from the "V". Techwood Dorm, on the SE corner of North Ave and Techwood Dr. I was born a couple of blocks away at Crawford Long.

Now I am craving some onion rings, and a couple of dogs.

Too bad I live so far away from Atlanta or I might have stopped by.

Sounds like it would have been lots more pleasant than the luncheon invitation that arrived last week (free meal offered along with discussion of funeral and cremation options at The Rusty Bucket).
