Open letter to Kobal2

Dear Kobal2,
You don't know me, but I am a fan. And a hater. I come here for the LOLs and you are a rich source of them. This line from the pledge of allegiance thread:

But, at the same time, I also hate you because you are funnier in your second language (at least, maybe it's your third or fourth, I don't know everything about you - I'm a fan, not a fanatic) than I ever have been or ever will be in my first and only. Bastard.
Warmest Regards,

As a fellow non-US person, I want to express my total agreement with Steve McQwark regarding Kobal2.

Yeah, if we had a like button, I'd have used it on a lot of his posts.

Add me to the fanclub. Almost nobody at this board makes me laugh more often. As his fellow EUnian, I can almost always share his WTFs about the sometimes strange ways of the US...

And he's not only funny, but also very knowledgeable about history, so he's perfect doper material.

The only thing I don't like is the way his perfect English reminds me of how perfect my French isn't. Other than that, yeah, he's a keeper.

All any of you have done here is in service of encouraging that sort of behavior.

Oh yes. Must not encourage the neighbor, wouldn't want him to think he's appreciated

Won't have lunch with me because I don't drink, the bastard.

Yeah, well, I just want to say that I saw him first, and he is totally one of my best friends on the planet, as you can see by checking my friends list full of other people I will never get to meet.

Seriously, he's one of the brightest lights here, in my opinion.

I don't know, can you really trust someone who puts a space before an exclamation point?

More seriously, his and Nava's command of English is really amazing -- I would never know it wasn't their native language, except for the occasional weird gap in their knowledge of something pretty commonly known here in the USA.

Standard drilled French syntax I'm afraid. But at least I don't ever put more than 1 exclamation point in a row. Them's the ones you gotta watch. Axe murderers, the lot of 'em.

I think you, Nava, and any other poster whose facility with English is better than mine should be required to post with an outrageous accent. "Multiple exclamation points ! Sacre bleu ! Zey are like zee, how you say, axe murderers ! Zees are zee ones you must watch. <takes a drag on a cigarette>"

Jeez, you even do an outrageous French accent better than I do. Hey! I'm supposed to be mocking you, OK?

Languages you speak better than I do, so far:

English
French
Mock French
