Which Republican, other than Trump, do you want to lose next year?

I rarely post in the pit, but this article from Yahoo news pissed me off and reminds me of how much I want to see Lindsey Graham lose next year. Graham has made himself into one of the most notorious boot lickers of all time.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/lindsey-g...151042671.html

Since this is the pit I see no need to give Republicans equal time, but I also don't want to start yet another bash Trump thread. With that being said, which Republican would you most want to see lose next year?

Agree with the above.

Graham REALLY pisses me off. He hated Trump, and then 'oops', he got elected and that piece of shit is now his staunch supporter. The hypocrites hypocrite. The Republican ideal.

But Mitch needs to go. That may make the Senate take notice. Or at least some Republicans will scurry back under their rocks.

Besides the above mentioned, Jim Jordan and Thom Tillis. Mark Meadows would be nice too. AFAIK, though, Tillis is the only real possibility.

And Devin Nunes and Matt Gaetz. Grandstanding lick-spittle pricks.

Damnit, every one I'd have named has already been named.

No, wait. Susan Collins. It'd be nice to see her gone, too, the fucking concern troll.

Jim Risch, Idaho. Ranked as the safest R seat. So, if that guy loses, mathematically there was a bloodbath.

I came in to blast Comrade Moscow Mitch, and then realized I have completely overlooked goat felching Graham.

Honorable mentions are concern troll Susan Collins and Nunes.

Just to pile on, I wouldn't mind Liz Cheney leading the second tier out the door.

It's OK though, because Trump was too incompetent to form any kind of policy in Ukraine. So it's all good.

So yes. Graham should go. Moscow Mitch as well. I"d like to see them lose bigly.

Cruz isn't up, is he? Since he was reelected last year. I live across the ocean but he's been making my back teeth hurt since before Trump got on that downcalator (kind of a foreboding of his presidency, really).

Pretty much all the mooks named so far, plus Rand Paul, who's been coming on strong in the "who's the most gigantic prick" sweepstakes in recent days.

Martha McSally. She's currently finishing McCain's term and is a useless blot on humanity. She was the congressional rep for district 2 here before that and made herself deeply deeply unpopular by refusing to meet any constituents until she more or less was forced to. Someone asked a critical of her question and she fled the town hall meeting and her staff ended the meeting. Wrong district to try that in as that was Gabby Giffords and then Ron Barber's seat. Both did post shooting Congress on your corner meet and greets (Barber was shot at the same event Gabby was).

Plus she keeps being all " women solidarity! " then voting against things like funding for Planned Parenthood.

My bumper sticker would read "Dump Moscow Mitch and Putin's Bitch 2020"

Of COURSE Moscow Mitch. Yes Lindsay the sucker of orange. Susan Collins who was SO troubled to confirm a drunken sexual predator but does anyway.

In a nutshell, ALL Republicans. They have sold their souls to Satan and I don't think he has a return policy. This party needs to die and let responsible adults form a new opposition party.

All of the loathsome people suggested so far are eminently worthy, but Moscow Mitch would be the most consequential and therefore gets my negative vote.

I only get to pick one?

Fuck it; Iím gonna go full Deus Ex Machina mode. The day before Election Day, the universe undergoes a quantum shift, and the Book of Revelation becomes accurate. And the Rapture happens, but it only takes every voter who is inclined to vote R. The day AFTER the election, they all get sent back (because it was only a trial run).

And the day after that, the universal quantum shift reverses itself, and the Creator of the Universe fucks back off into non-existence, like a good little Deus Ex Machina should.

I'll start here: the following are either already older than 80 years old, or would be over 80 by the time their next term is up. I don't think we need any octogenarians in the US Senate.

Pat Roberts - 83 - Kansas - Retiring in 2020
Lamar Alexander - 79 - Tennessee - Retiring in 2020
Mike Enzi - 75 - Wyoming - Retiring in 2020
Jim Risch - 76 - Idaho
Mitch McConnell - 77 - Kentucky
Jim Inhofe - 84 - Oklahoma - i don't think has declared 2020 candidacy yet

Otherwise, is it cheating for me to say my answer is Mike Pence?

Naw, I want DJT to be impeached and Mikey going down with him. He's just as dirty. Which leaves President Pelosi to lead the country into 2020.

Joe Arapio has declared he's running for sheriff again in 2020. So, him, after all the ones already mentioned. (Moscow Mitch, Graham Cracker, and 2-3 more R senators needed to flip the Senate and keep it safe from Manchin's "bipartisonship")

That actually raises a question : the trend of absolute fuckery on the part of contemporary republicans was probably ushered by Newt Gingrich and now, of course, by Yertle the Turtle. But is there an heir to the throne who will, in the words of Paul Pierson, be "dedicated not to govern but to making governance impossible" ?

Congressman Duncan Hunter. He is running again next year despite being under indictment for misusing $250,000 of campaign funds.

I'm torn between Mitch and my own Tom Cotton, but wanting Cotton is personal, so I'll go for Mitch.

All the above are great choices and bigger hopes for me but one annoying one not mentioned is Marco Rubio (not sure if he's up in 2020, but I'll put him in contention for his next election). He's not horrifically bad, but just so cowardly and weak. He's embarrassing.

Strtaegically - McConnell. Personally - close between McConnell and Graham, but I edge toward the latter. McConnell never had a soul. Graham sold his.

A bit late for that. They made their choice back in 1968 (Nixon's "Southern Strategy"), and have stuck with it for the half-century since.

What are the chances the Democrats get the Senate, though?
