Considering this is a predominantly US-centric board and the number of people tested in the US is still staggeringly low, I suspect everyone outside of health workers aren't going to know many personally if any.

Ask again in six months and I think the responses will be dramatically different.

I voted '1', as someone I used to see in person, but now just on Facebook, claims to have been diagnosed with the virus. I don't think he's lying, though he's being quite flippant about the upcoming indulgences of self -isolation. He lives in Bath, UK.

None positive; some possible but untested. Our little remote county just saw its first case, admitted this morning to our usual hospital. COVID may not sweep over the Gold Rush and Lake Tahoe country for awhile - a couple of weeks.

None yet, although I expect that to change being in Seattle. 2 people at work (in a big company are positive), my kids tutor is in a very high risk category, and I have kids in local schools. Between school and work, it is probably just a matter of time.

I should add that none of my colleagues in the Wuhan epicenter or worked there are positive. Nor are any of my friends or extended family in China positive. fingers crossed

Zero. I talked to a woman yesterday who told me her mother tested positive. It would have been the first positive for the county I (and she) live in. There were no news reports confirming this last night or today.

I talked to her today and she sheepishly told me her mom had pranked her.

None yet, but my county only just received a handful of test kits. Stay tuned.

A friend of mine is in a medically induced coma. He was on a ski trip in Italy with a bunch of friends a few weeks ago. Like ten of them got the virus. Most are recovering well but he was hit hard. Thankfully, he has shown improvement over the last two days.

None yet, and I'm a doctor but we've not even been able to get test kits for my population of patients yet (24,000) of them. Local hospitals haven't had them either yet. We hope to have the kits in by this coming Monday, in 36 hours

Informally, do you think it's present in your population?

More broadly, as a person who has worked in public health for a couple of decades, are we no (finally) doing the right thing? Is this extreme social distancing thing--closing schools and events, everyone staying home--appropriate?

1. Went to school with him 17 years ago. Saw it on the news and on his Facebook.

The three positive cases in our town of about 14,000 people are all in the same family (two adults and a child). We have known them for about 8 years. They're all recovering now.

ETA: The town hasn't released their names. We know who it is because the woman has been texting friends about what she perceives as misinformation being shared by the town.

I know two, they are friends of a family member and just returned from Italy last weekend. They report it feels like the normale flu, with one of them noticing some mild breathing issues. It seems the authorities (here in NL) are keeping tabs on them pretty stringently. Both with regard to their health and about what they are expected to do. Appearantly 24 hours symptom free, means you van go outside again.

They have also been following up with anyone they had contact with since returning.

I'm in Padua, near Venice and zero so far. Fingers crossed. A friend has two uncles who have it, but I don't know them personally, so not counting them.

Also, people who do know someone are more likely to respond than those who don't.

I said 0 a few days ago. Now it is possibly at 1. My friend in LA works at a clinic and is now sick. Of the 10 (ten) test kits they have, he's using 1. Will know more soon.

Well, it's official. My co-worker has it- him and his children. He says he's the sickest he's ever been right now.

I voted 0 - but 3 minutes after that my boss texted me to say that someone on our floor at work had tested positive and not to come in tomorrow. Meanwhile I've developed a cold-like headache, a slight fever and a cough. So now it's 1 and possibly 2.

Zero here, for now. There are no confirmed cases on my island. The state has 6 cases, but all on other islands. I'm expecting the numbers to go up, but so far so good.

None, but as others have said, thereís not a lot of testing being done, and itís just starting to hit central Jersey now. Fortunately, friends and family in the Seattle area are ok.

Iíve been mildly sick since sick last week (sore throat, some respiratory symptoms, no fever) so I called the big gigantic medical conglomerate I go to. They had a special coronavirus-specific line set up. The nurse essentially told me not to come in unless I had a real reason to suspect coronavirus. I thought that was very interesting. I wonder if their urgent care facilities are swamped. Anyway, this seems to be nothing more than a cold, but Iíve quarantined myself just in case.

That's what I was thinking of doing, but sooner. Maybe once every two weeks, or so.

I guess I should have made that clear, because it will require a new poll each time. So this would be "poll #1," or something like that.
