Holy crap, they're making Super Troopers 2!

The time is meow... well, 2017, actually. Gives me time to prepare for even more Vermont-cop shenanigans!

"I'm gonna pistol-whip the next person who says, 'Shinanigans'!"

Classic, underrated film! I'm gonna watch this with a liter of cola!

By the way, have you got around to Beerfest yet? If not, you really gotta do that.

Dude, you missed out on a chance of buying the cruiser they use for the movie on their Kickstarter.

Not surprising the funding campaign was fast and successful. I'll take it as a good sign that they didn't go for studio funding.

This is not exactly new news. The Indiegogo (not Kickstarter) campaign was done over a year ago.

I'm not sure I'd appreciate it - the car (or at least the car in the trailer) identifies them as state police, but the premise in the original film is that the state trooper station was closing. At the end, the characters had joined the Spurbury Police Department, replacing the corrupt rival cops who were presumably all in jail by then.

Comedy's fine, but let's not jettison consistency.

The opening 10 minutes of the first Super Troopers is the funniest 10 minutes in any movie, ever.

Bumped.

Finally saw it last night. Not as good as the first, unsurprisingly, but still fun! Some standout moments:
SPOILER:
The dream sequence on the band's tour bus. The captain's largest-permissible-mustache cutout. Jim Gaffigan is again stopped for a traffic violation. The rude Canadian townspeople in the public meeting. The pileup in the strip club. Farva ordering all those drinks at one time to get his free pastry. Thorny under the influence of Canadian women's sex pills. Farva shooting down the bald eagle. Fred Savage and the cat rescue.

If you liked the first one, you should see the second.

Agreed: Not as funny as the first, but a worthy sequel.

Rob Lowe was on top form in this. It wasn't quite up to the original's standard... or maybe it was, just not up to the abovementioned first ten minutes of the original. But what could be?

I've watched it 3 or 4 times now. I was a bit underwhelmed the first viewing, but it's really grown on me.

Some of the scenes were filmed in my area. I did not know about this then saw the film and could not stop saying I know where that is... Last summer my son and some friends were vacationing in Maine and they rented the dvd to watch from redbox got back to the cottage and the dvr didnt work so they went to the goodwill and picked out a random one and plugged it in... the drawer opens and Super troopers was in the machine! They still talk about that.
