What song is your cell ringtone?

When I upgraded recently, I bought "Small Town" as my ringtone.

"School's Out" by Alice Cooper.

Works on two levels. I work building school furniture and I'm in an Alice tribute!

The opening strains of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run"

But when my wife calls, it's Gal Costa singing "Aquarela do Brasil", known in English simply as "Brazil"

Mine makes a ringing noise. I had about 20 different ringtones on my old phone, but we upgraded last month. It is pretty similar to the two quick rings that are heard on Top Gear when they are calling each other. If I could get that exact sound, I would use it on at least my work phone.

For the Christmas season I changed it to Glenn Miller's version of Sleigh Ride, but usually it's Changes in Lattitudes, Changes in Attitudes by Jimmy Buffet. When Suburban Plankton calls it's Queen's You're My Best Friend.

Oh, and when I get a text, it's the TARDIS dematerializing.

Depends. If my wife is calling, it's Randy and the Rainbows. If it's one of my students, it's "Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce. Anybody else gets Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone."

General ringtone is Turn to Stone, by the Electric Light Orchestra. When my wife calls, her tone is Jack Sparrow's theme music from Pirates of the Caribbean.

At the moment it's "Elf's Lament" by Barenaked Ladies. After the holidays, it will revert to my usual rotation of "Hitchin' a Ride" by Green Day or "All I Do is Win" by DJ Khaled, T-Pain, my beloved Luda, etc.

I want my next phone to be able to have different tones for different people, and use WoW's "run away little girl" when my mother calls, "you not take candle" or "time is money, friend" for Financebro and "you are not prepared" or "keep your feet onna floor" for Middlebro, but for now I have Siniestro Total's "Miña terra galega" live (their cover of Sweet Home Alabama) as the general ringtone and Sons of Maxwell doing "Tell my ma" as the alarm.

London Calling by the Clash. Every now and again someone will hear the opening notes of the ringtone and crack up.

Ms. Attack
has Hanging on the Telephone.

Monty Python's Galaxy Song, on my Samsung Galaxy S.

Except when my partner calls me. In the Christmas spirit, I've changed his personal ringtone to his favourite Christmas song - the UK's 2009 Christmas #1.

My future-ex-son-in-law used this for his mother.

As for me, my phone just rings, on the rare occasions that I get a call. Mostly it just lives in the car. I rarely use it.

Super Mario Brothers theme as the main ring. When Lady Lacha calls, it's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy."

Mine is a jaunty island rhythm that came with the phone. In the past, I've had Yakety Sax, the Office theme song, various AC/DC and Zeppelin songs, and Jizz in My Pants.

For phone calls: Miles Davis, "If I Were a Bell"

For text: one of the generic ones. I haven't figured out a good, short, pithy musical licks for texts yet.

"Sentinel" the first track on Tubular Bells II. Nice because it starts off quiet, so I can answer it without jumping out of my chair.

I have the "Piroriparopirirora" sound from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, a very funny anime series.

The sound for a text message is Meru-chan's "Mail, mail" sound from the same series.

This may or may not make things clearer.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a fangirl.

The first few measures of Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke."

I can set different ringtones for different callers, but I hardly ever get calls: my family and friends tend to use emails or text messages. My phone rings so infrequently that it always surprises me -- and still makes me happy -- to hear those opening horns.

Previously, the Blasters' American Music and the themes from Peter Gunn and Indiana Jones.
