Not so. I listen yesterday and he explained that he had self-quarantined because he had come into contact with someone who has it.

He don't got it. (yet!)

Plácido Domingo has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Domingo is 79. This could easily be fatal for a man his age. He's reporting mild symptoms so far.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/22/enter...rnd/index.html

I remember Domingo from the famous 3 Tenors concerts. José Carreras is still alive. Luciano Pavarotti died a few years ago.

José Carreras is on a farewell tour. He recently cancelled appearances because of Coronavirus.

He's 73 and not ill. I hope he's taking precautions.

Harvey Weinstein has the virus. I wonder if the care he will receive, if he needs it, will look a lot different than it would have not too long ago.

Weinstein is already in very precarious health. I doubt he'll survive the Coronavirus.

Wanna bet? I'll put up $200 saying the rapist survives, even money. Survival defined as cause of death (everyone dies sometime) something other than COVID-19/viral pneumonia.

I'm not that invested in Weinstein's health. If he dies, he dies. I wouldn't be upset if he lives to serve more prison time.

He recently had a Coronary procedure. He seems to be in declining health. But I'm not a doctor.

Considering the news of how he's touched many people inappropriately, maybe not surprising.

With the number of well known people testing positive; I have to wonder about the percentage of the population in general. Frightening.

Well-connected people stay connected by connecting with many other well-connected people. Exponential exposure and infection rates ensue. Expect to see many well-known names on the "infected" list. The old will be winnowed.

I vaguely remember Cardoz from Top Chef Masters season 3. He won and my favorite, Mary Sue Milliken was runner-up.

It's scary that a successful 59 year old guy died from Coronavirus. He had wealth and could afford to eat well. He could pay for insurance & excellent medical care. Still didn't save him.

Prince Charles testing positive has caused quite a stir. There was explicit advice a few days ago for people with rural second homes not to travel to them to isolate, and potentially "escape" the virus.

Here's one example: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/12...-Boris-Johnson

The headline and URL relate to Cornwall, but further on in the article you'll find SNP Westminster Leader Ian Blackford urging people to stay away from the Scottish Highlands due to the sparse healthcare availability.

So what does Charlie-boy do? Leaves his home in London to travel to the Highlands to stay in one of his many other homes, while he was already showing symptoms.

And unlike normal mortals, he doesn't just travel with his wife - a whole entourage went with him in a chartered helicopter. It's not going down well over here.

Yeah. The virus is getting all too real.

Covid-19 definitely can be lethal. Modern medicine can only do so much.

Uh, it's Placido Domingo that's hospitalized with Covid-19. His name is right there in the link.

I copy/pasted the wrong name from the original quote.

John Prine is hospitalized and in critical condition. The symptoms indicate it's probably Covid-19.

Man, this virus is going after some legendary songwriters/musicians.

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...ms-974909/amp/

Quote:
While Prine’s exact medical condition is unclear, “his situation is critical,” his family said in a statement Sunday.

“After a sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms, John was hospitalized on Thursday. He was intubated Saturday evening, and continues to receive care, but his situation is critical,” the Prine family wrote.

Alan Merrill — who wrote the song “I Love Rock and Roll” that became a signature hit for fellow rocker Joan Jett — died Sunday in New York of complications from the coronavirus, his daughter sad. He was 69.

ETA: Aye; that's copy/pasted from the link.

Japanese comedian Ken Shimura dies from coronavirus: NHK.

For those who don't know, America's Funniest Home Videos is based on a recurring segment in Shimura's old TV show, Fun TV with Kato-chan and Ken-chan (You'll see that information in the credits for each episode of AFV).

Jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli has died from the coronavirus at 94.

He was the father of John Pizzarelli, and an enduring figure in jazz music in his own right. Known for playing a seven-string guitar, he worked with people from Dizzy Gillespie to Benny Goodman to Sarah Vaughan to Dick Hyman. Saw him about 10 years ago playing with a local wind symphony orchestra. Never did get to see him perform with his son, who I've seen a number of times.

Marianne Faithfull makes the list. Hospitalized.

Shoot. After all she went thru and worked so hard to come back from a very low point back when. Given her health and all, her chances aren't good.

Little trivia on her, if I recall correctly:

She was the first person to say "fuck" in a mainstream movie.
