Syracuse postponed/cancelled it's St. Patricks Day Parade for this weekend (one of the biggest in the country). Boston did as well.

And, the governor of Cuomo has issued a ban on gatherings of over 500 people (schools, churches, hospitals are exempt).

South By Southwest music festival was canceled, with NO refunds.

The NFL has canceled their annual league meeting. The draft will almost certainly be without fans, and possibly held virtually.

My mother-in-law's senior HOA annual party has been canceled. She was heavily involved in planning it.

Seattle area schools just went from closed two weeks up to six weeks.

They cancelled the air show at March Air Reserve Base in SoCal, which is pretty ironic since that was the place they were qurantining the initial people evacuated from Wuhan.

Is it the first air show that got cancelled?

In my field, a large conference in Europe was canceled a week ago, and another conference in San Diego was just made virtual.

The LA Times has a list of cancelled conferences, and notes that 260 have been cancelled in Europe alone.

From my reading, it is now more likely that a big conference will be canceled than not.

The city of St. Louis has banned gatherings of more than 1000 people

The University of Missouri system remains open but on-campus classes are suspended till 3/15. Classes will be delivered online

Multiple universities in the St. Louis area are also moving to online only classes, including Washington University, St. Louis University, and my employer Maryville University.

The downtown St. Louis St. Patrick's Day Parade, which draws about 250,000 people annually, has been postponed. So has a smaller parade in the Dogtown neighborhood of St Louis City and multiple events in the suburbs of Cottleville MO, Belleville IL, and Waterloo IL.

All public universities, multiple private colleges and universities and community colleges are closed and doing online courses until further notice
High School sports are cancelled
The Henry Ford Museum is closed for a week
The governor just closed all K-12 schools through April 5.
And incidentally, our church is cancelling services until further notice. That seems like it would be a first in many people's lifetimes.

The Chancellor of the California Community Colleges--the largest system of higher education in the nation--just gave the individual districts permission to move all classes online without going through the normal (lengthy) approval process. 20 of the 119 districts have started the process.

All over the state they're throwing together massive Canvas training programs, attended by instructors who previously avoided it.

So they aren't really closing--just going online.

A friend in Newport, RI says their parade has been canceled.

Teen-aged neighbor tells me all high school dances and sporting events are canceled.

I want to add this: I am far from panicked, but it's crucial to get in front of this virus. My state has been slow to react. I hope yours isn't.

Washington State has closed private and public schools in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties from March 17th at the very latest until April 24th.

The University of Washington and Seattle University have gone online until the end of the quarter.

Central Washington University (Ellensburg-it's the boonies) will hold classes tomorrow (last day of the quarter), but all finals will be online.

Hard Rock Hell AOR in Great Yarmouth is "postponed" but I reckon Chic Festivals really mean "cancelled 'cos we didn't stick to our contractual agreements".

The album launch tour for Snake Oil and Harmony is also off as one of the singers is in Prague and can't get a flight out.

Here is the latest update from the church newsroom regarding that, along with the latest on the church education system (the various BYU campuses, LDS Business College, and whatever primary and secondary schools the church runs.

The worship services had already been canceled here in China for a while, and a couple of weeks ago, canceled in South Korea. I don't know when other areas began their "no meetings" policies, but as RioRico mentioned, this is now a world-wide policy. Other faith groups are doing the same thing.

The rest of the current Dashboard Confessional / Get Up Kids tour is postponed as well, but all I hope for is that it's rescheduled at a time when I'm not on vacation. Combined, I've missed these bands around 5 times due to either having already made plans or my family making plans I didn't want to miss after I bought tickets.

FIRST Robotics Competition championships cancelled at Houston and Detroit. Around 800 high school teams in two events. This was supposed to be the culmination of 7 weekends of competitions with around 150 local competitions all over the world. The first two weekends were run (except for the Chinese events); before the third weekend the most of the rest were "postponed" or "suspended".

Most events were cancelled prior to teams arriving, but one team traveled from California to St Louis to compete, only to find when they got there that event was cancelled. (They did get good BBQ before returning.) Another event was canceled after the Drive Team meeting on the field (sort of a repeating the rules and how to get on/off the field).

That moaning your heard this week was 91,000 teens, 25,000 mentors, plus parents and volunteers after they heard the news.

Ohio, Maryland, Oregon, New Mexico, Michigan and the District of Columbia have ordered all schools closed, and the governor has recommended closing all schools in Kentucky. Large urban school districts such as Atlanta, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Austin, Texas, have also shuttered.
In Virginia, the Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County schools are closed, as well as others downstate.

The Smithsonian is closing, including the National Zoo

Here's a list of nearly 90 colleges and universities that are closing, going to remote learning, or some combination of the two. And that list doesn't include at least two universities that I know of that are closing/going remote.

Yes, that list includes nothing in Oregon, no community colleges, and none of the liberal arts colleges I know about. All were posted prior to the date/time stamp on that article.

ETA: Add Bryn Mawr to the list.

Yeah, things are changing very fast.

Given the number of colleges and universities in the U.S., it's probably pointless to try to keep up with that category. If someone needs to know about a particular college or university, they can check the website.
