Out of curiosity, do you draw a distinction between "there's no guarantee it'll work" "there's a guarantee that it WON'T work"?

Trump's opinion of the Mueller report has changed yet again, and it is now "the Bible."

Given how little of the Bible he knows, I feel safe in predicting he doesn't really know what's in the report either.

This simply means that you read it occasionally (somewhere between once a week or once a year), quote the parts you agree with, and disregard the rest.

So, yes, indeed, just like the Bible.

Or that you've heard of it. The way people might refer to The Koran when they have never held one or opened one and have no idea what's in it.

Yes.

Out of curiosity, do you draw a distinction between "stupid questions" and "stupid questions that are obviously trying to lead somewhere"?

It can be difficult to figure out what is in the Bible with all those goddam redactions.

Might want to re-read Barr's memo again:

The first book of the Trump Version Mueller Report Bible wouldn't be "Genesis", it would be "Oranges".

Trump tried to obstruct the obstruction case by getting McGahn to publicly declare that there was no obstruction. McGahn declined. It’s like meta obstruction.

They could print it on fabric swatches for him. Either one.

Come to think, he might redecorate the Oval Office in Mueller Report fabric.

Are you really talking this way about a 'rando' on the internet?

I fell prey to that, after a poster here threatened me, my mother and infant daughter with disgusting acts (and kept it up for weeks even after I reported a half dozen of his posts). And you sound like this place and the people are getting to you, too.

But I just had to give it up 'cause it was corroding me.

Life's too short, and the internet's too shallow, man.

Well, this dude is mad at this other dude for something they posted on the internet, but the dude who posted doesn’t care.

Really, just a typical day on the Internet. Not seen so very much around here in the past, but I guess its yet another example of the continual coarsening/erosion of discourse in our world.

Sure, I got that part, but what was it that inspired the anger, and particularly, why did BPC characterize it as exploring new horizons in hatred?

I thought it must have a backstory (we've had posters follow each other through multiple threads, dredging up comments from years ago), but I looked around last night and couldn't find any previous interaction.

BPC, were you maybe just joking?

Could it be that the anger is directed towards the guy in the photo, Xzibit, who perhaps once installed a fish tank, clothes dryer or fireplace in BPC's car in an episode of Pimp My Ride?

For the record I don't recall any interactions previously and I just posted a silly meme variation and if that's what sets this guy off I don't think the internet is for him. But I was telling the truth when I said I don't care either way.

Mueller won't be appearing before the House Judiciary Committee this week. Rep. Nadler commented that Mueller may prefer to come when he's a private citizen, rather than DOJ employee, which should be "only a matter of weeks away", because Mueller would then be "more free from the instructions of the Department of Justice."

Please can't some less than entirely scrupulous liberal News organization print a story with the headline "Trump vows to ban publication of bible"?

Lindsey Graham: Lawless, obstructionist piece of shit.
"Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says Donald Trump Jr. should ignore the subpoena issued to him by the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“If I were Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer, I would tell him, ‘You don’t need to go back into this environment anymore,’” Graham said in an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. “‘You’ve been there for hours and hours and nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation.’ I would call it a day.”

Russian hackers "gained access to voter databases in two Florida counties ahead of the 2016 presidential election". Makes no mention of what "gained access" means, but it seems weird to break into someone's house, and just look around and then leave, all for no apparent benefit.

Well, if you're a run-of-the-mill thief, then anything you can lift of value is good - jewelry, clothes, dog food, whatever.

If you're an information thief, then there's only value if you don't already have that information. If they didn't take the voter roll, then likely they determined that they already had better information from an alternate source and it wasn't worth uploading back to themselves - they might have just double-checked a few values to see if the data they had concurred.

Or, possibly, they did take some data and it simply didn't leave a record.

Or, possibly, they did invalidate some voter entries and it just didn't leave a trace.

Computers don't necessarily leave behind a traceable record of everything that ever happened on them, and certainly their mechanisms for doing so are not inviolable.

Jokes are funny.

You're also the only person to find the humor in it even if I was the first to respond, so not only is your sense of humor questionable, you are outnumbered.

I dunno. Is there a counter-meme to the Pimp My Ride thing that references previously unexplored levels of hatred?

Being that BPC appears to have posted extensively in other threads since making his cryptic condemnation and/or joke, I surmise that he either has no plans to resolve the mystery or has elected to keep us in suspense.

You know that the media coverage of the Mueller report has jumped the shark when the best guest you can get is Carly Fiorina. That’s what I came across last night while flipping through the channels. I didn’t stick around long enough to benefit from her insight.

Media coverage of Trump jumped the shark about six months before he was elected.

We're three or so years past that point now and they still haven't even gotten around to even writing a cogent explanation of why the Wall is a bad idea, let alone investigating whether or not Trump is compromised in some way.

While it was certainly possible that Trump had some form of explicit arrangement with Russia during the campaign, the media were stupid to allow the message to become that Trump is innocent of all wrong so long as he couldn't be proven to have done that one explicit thing.

For all that Russia or anyone may have helped Trump to gain the Presidency, CNN did and continues to do more for him by simple process of being stupid, loud, and easily played.

In my defense the "mark as read" system here is not great.

Sorry, that was a joke. It apparently did not land as intended and I'm very sorry about that. It was supposed to be a humorous overreaction to what, IMHO, is a very cheesy meme. If it helps, imagine it being read in the voice of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Abridged.

All of that is of course true - but another reason to do this and 'not do anything apparent' is to

a) prove they can access (to themselves and others)
b) cause headaches for the people that maintain the systems trying to decide to trust the current data or not
c) once found and reported -the damage is done on voter confidence given our conspiracy laden overlord , regardless of any actual damage.

What I find interesting is all of the focus on the 'voter information database' (which is important to protect from prying eyes) but its really simply a phone book of people that live in the area - but its used as a way to attack /add conspiracy to the vote itself - and they are too seperate things.

It's says a lot that this story broke yesterday, and there's been no discussion of it here that I've seen.

Michael Flynn was singing like a bird and testified that:

“The defendant informed the government of multiple instances, both before and after his guilty plea, where either he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the Administration or Congress that could’ve affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation," says the newly-revealed section of a sentencing memo originally filed in December."

So, not only did Trump's administration, but some unnamed member of Congress directly obstructed the investigation. And he has the voicemails to prove it.

Anyone going to be surprised if the congressman turns out to be Nunes or the connection is one of his aides?

"... beginning on Election Day 2016"
While I'll grant that this should be big news, were this 2014 and we were talking about Barack Obama's personal lawyer, I'm pretty willing to bet that this is not the revelation that you're thinking that it is.

Cohen went out shopping himself as a Trump whisperer after the election. AT&T, Novartis, etc. were paying him. Part of the "etc." is Columbus Nova, which is linked to Russia.

The good odds are that this is that.

The alternative is that Mueller somehow left that out of everything. Possible, but Columbus Nova is more likely.

So, not only did Trump's administration, but some unnamed member of Congress directly obstructed the investigation. And he has the voicemails to prove it.
Get comfortable. There are going to be at least 50 charges of obstruction against just Trump before this is all over. My conservative estimate. There will be some for a few members of Congress, too.
