I just saw Vash in a commercial for Edward Jones. I hadn't seen her in anything recent - although older, she's still completely recognizable.

Some Fun Facts I had no inkling of until I started reading the MA entry for "By Any Other Name":

Julie Cobb, who plays the yeoman reduced to a plaster block and then crushed by the Kelvans, was the only Redskirt killed on TOS. She was the daughter of Lee J Cobb, and it was her first professional gig. It's apparent from her filmography that she's really gotten around since:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0167784/?ref_=nmbio_bio_nm

Turns out she was also married to this guy, whose name might ring a bell:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000342/?ref_=nmbio_sp_1

Whaddaya know, he and I attended the same college!

First Contact and Enterprise! With the exception of Kelly's, Nimoy's, and Doohan's guest appearances on TNG, has any other actor appeared in the same role in more than one iteration of Star Trek? (Diana Muldaur doesn't count, since she played multiple roles.)*

*I just remembered the Klingons on DS9: Campbell, Ansara, Colicos, and Brill. Was there anyone else?

Of course, there's the crossover between TOS and TNG in Generations: Shatner, Doohan, and Koenig.

And in TAS: Shatner, Nimoy, Doohan, Takei, Nichols, and Barrett, plus Lenard, Adams, and Carmel. Anyone else?

The Captain, First Officer and Doctor. A typical Star Trek plot-the ship is set to evacuate the survivors of an expedition, and they don't want to leave. ^^

I remember when she was on Trek I recognized her from some commercial, maybe even more than one.

Mark Lenard also showed up on TNG, reprising as Sarek.

DeLancie was on the Star Trek Continues ep "What Ships Are For", too. But not as Q.

Nicola Bryant, Peri from Doctor Who, will be on soon, according to their Facebook page.

Robert Picardo played Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, the creator of the Emergency Medical Hologram in an episode of DS9 and an episode of Voyager.

Dwight Schultz played Lt. "Reg" Barclay in TNG, the movie First Contact, and in six episodes of Voyager.

Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis appeared as Riker and Deanna in the final episode of Enterprise.

The Voyager episode Flashback had guest appearances by Sulu and Janice Rand.

In TNG The Price, two Ferengi get trapped on the other side of the galaxy. They reappeared in Voyager False Profits, played by the same actors.

A Cardassian named Gul Evek (Richard Poe) appeared in TNG, DS9 and the Voyager pilot.

And the same Computer Voice (Majel Barrett) appeared in multiple series.

Warren Stephens, TOS By Any Other Name, The Forbidden Planet, was in a Have Gun Will Travel episode. I knew the guy, but didn't know who he was until the credits.

Never paid much attention to Beverly Washburn, who played Lt Galway in “TOS:The Deadly Years”. But saw her recently in an episode of “77 Sunset Strip” and looked at imdb. Good Lord, she goes back to 1950 making films. Including playing a chold in the two-parter/film “Superman and the Mole Men” (was she the one rolling a ball to the mole men)? And after a hiatus in the 1980s and 1990s she is making films again.

I was reminded today of Dick Miller, who played a "sanctuary district" guard in the DS9 two-parter "Past Tense". He's been in more stuff than just about anybody.

Louise ("Requiem for Methuselah") Sorel was in the very first episode of Night Gallery (not the pilot movie). She was not blond.

Aside from the actors others mentioned, Picard had one appearance in DS9, and Dr. Bashir had one appearance in TNG.

Also called, "Track of the Vampire," it's two, two, two flicks in one; there's a Yugoslavian vampire flick cut in in various spots, which is why Campbell doesn't seem to be himself at times.

Three (or four, if you count her appearance in STIV with different hair color as "Woman in Cafeteria"), and an episode of ST:VGR:

I was surprised to see Jonathan Frakes in an old episode of the Waltons. Interestingly, he played a naval officer there too (I believe a Lieutenant. Can't believe it took him like four centuries to get promoted to Commander!)

Anthony Caruso, Bela Oxmyx from A Piece of the Action, played Cherokee Chief White Bull on the Riverboat episode The Long Trail. He was a crook and made a deal with the white guys to sell out his people and met his Just Reward, falling off the riverboat in the clutches of the army colonel who was an asshole.

Weird memory: I saw her in a cigarette commercial during the first broadcast of TOS "This Side of Paradise" on 2 March 1967, just before Kirk gets inundated with the spores on the bridge of the Enterprise.

Why this should have stuck so indelibly in my mind, I don't know.

Very similar, but the one I saw definitely had Lori in it. (There's absolutely no mistaking her!) The brunette in this one looks more like Sabrina "Miramanee" Scharf.

The series was created by Gene Roddenberry, so he remembered them when casting them for Star Trek. Wikipedia lists Walter Koenig, Leonard Nimoy, Ricardo Montalban, Nichelle Nichols, and Majel Barrett, whom he later married, as among the guest stars.

The star of the show was Gary Lockwood, who played LCDR Gary Mitchell in the second TOS pilot. As an aside, his CO in The Lieutenant was Robert Vaughn, aka "Napoleon Solo" in The Man from UNCLE.

Nichelle got an "And Introducing" in the credits for her episode.

Here's the full list. Lots of recognizable names and Trek crossover:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056771/fullcredits/

Among the ones I find most interesting are Fred Flintstone and Chatsworth T Osborne, Jr.

I'm watching the 1947 movie "The Beginning or the End" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beginning_or_the_End which stars a Robert Walker - he's not quite a Star Trek star, but he looks an awful lot like his son - Robert Walker, Jr., everyone's favorite "Charlie X."

" Major General Leslie R. Groves, Jr., the director of the Manhattan Project, was hired as a consultant for $10,000 (equivalent to $123,000 in 2016)."

I dislike saying "shit" in consecutive posts, but Holy Shit!

When the President suggests the title, I doubt that one chooses another.

As a related question, which Trek actors (among the main characters) are more well known for roles other than their Trek role? Off the top of my head my guesses are Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, NCIS New Orleans), Levar Burton (Roots), and Kate Mulgrew (Orange is the New Black). Any others you all can think of, or would any of the three I mention be up for dispute?

Hmm, the first role I think of for Rene Auberjonois is Father Mulcahy in the movie version of M*A*S*H, and he was also a regular on Benson. Diana Muldaur did one season as a regular on NextGen; I tend to remember her from a lot of different roles (including TOS), but the one that stands out is her season, and interesting demise, on L.A. Law. And Wil Wheaton has almost carved out more of a reputation living down Wesley Crusher than he did as Wesley Crusher.

Ethan Phillips (Neelix) was also on Benson. Before Voyager, Kate Mulgrew was famous for that flop detective show Mrs. Columbo, aka Kate Loves A Mystery, aka Kate the Detective.

Colm Meaney is arguably better known for his film work (The Snapper, The Commitments, The Damned United, etc.) than for his years as Miles O'Brien.
