Free to good home: catalog of Mexican drawn work Irish linen

This 16 page catalog is about 3" by 7" and if I had to guess, it's probably from the nineteen forties or older. I'm not really expecting anyone to be particularly interested in it, this is just one more step in trying to throw it out without feeling guilty.

You see, I inherited it along with boxes and boxes of other things. I've gone through most of it. Somehow, though, if something strikes me a vaguely historic, I have more trouble tossing it.

I've already posted scans of it here. So if you're just curious what would be in such a catalog, I suggest clicking the link instead of inviting more paper into your life.

If you're still interested, I'll be checking my PMs for three days. I'll mail it first class, no charge.

FYI, a little Googling found this, which apparently is an old post card with the same guy (A. B. Culver) listed.

If you're interested in learning any more, it might be worth a thread over in IMHO to see if SDMB can do some collective research.

Interesting. Let me google a bit and see if I can think of a good IMHO question. (Fighting big urge to nap right now.)

It's a catalog of things to buy, right? Not instructions on how to make them?

If it were the latter, I'd take it. I do crochet and tatting of various mostly useless things, including doilies. They do have an actual use besides decoration; they can be put under lamps on tables to keep the lamp from scratching the wood. That's what I tell myself, anyway. The real use is to keep my hands busy so I don't snack.

Sadly, there are no instructions. If you were really familiar with the techniques, you might be able to duplicate what's in the photos. But they are not large photos, so even that might not work, except for the small pieces.

Mods, would this work in IMHO? From what I've googled, this is likely to be from the early nineteen hundreds.

We've had lots of threads that boil down effectively to "Does anyone know anything about this obscure thing I have?" I don't think you need permission for it..although you're welcome to wait for a response, of course.

I have it! Yaaayyyy!

I took it with the vague idea that I could use it as a primary document of some kind in some kind of hypothetical future social studies assignment, but mainly because nobody else seemed to want it at the time and I felt bad about getting it thrown away.

If somebody else has a burning desire to own it I'd happily pay it forward.
