I saw a Gregg's van today.

Then a Warburton's van shortly after.

Although yesterday I did see a Jaguar E-type.

It was the Gregg's van.

On the drive north on Saturday I was passed (rather quickly) by a canary yellow Dodge Viper. I'd forgotten just how low to the ground they are.

A Merc S-class with Hawaii license plates, here in suburban Boston. Saw an Alaska plate on the drive in this morning but Hawaii plates are much rarer.

Not just one, but two Lambos. Which make the only two I've ever seen in my rice-growing village in Eastern Taiwan.

Japan had lots more interesting cars.

Over the weekend I saw a couple, including a nice Shelby Cobra kit car but I think my favorite was a 70 Chevy Nova that clearly had been driven fast. Not lovingly restored but kept well. An unassuming car with kick - it appeared to have the 427.

Far too many to choose just one, today as every Friday in downtown Escondido, where a weekly car show is held. I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

I have no idea what it was, but what looked like a tiny Batmobile with three wheels drove past my apartment last night. It had two wheels in the front and only one in the rear, no top, a neon blue light coming from underneath, and the loudest stereo I think I have ever heard. (Which is what made me look out the window in the first place.)

Sounds like a T-Rex, unless there's a pre-release Slingshot running around.

I guess an 05-09 Mustang GT was the most interesting thing I've seen today. Small town.

A black '59 Chevy Impala Biscayne in gorgeous condition. Belongs to my sister's neighbors, who had it out from under its protective cover today. I keep trying to decide if that's the model we had for a while when I was in my early teens but I think now ours was a later model. Still had tail fins but not quite a cool as the ones on the '59.

Oh, saw a tiny convertible today too. Don't know what it was. Only about as long as a Smart Car and new. Wish I got a better look at it.

Drove up to Carlsbad yesterday afternoon to spend some time at the beach with a friend.

Saw an Audi R8 on the freeway, and a Ferrari 458 Italia on the Coast Highway.

Stopped by the Porsche dealership Saturday since they had a 911 50th. Nearby was a white 2005 GT, 499K. Dayum but that's a fierce looking beast.

I've recently been toying with the idea of buying a 2CV truckette for my business. It's probably an idle dream, because they seem to be fairly scarce.

On the subject of unusual cars, can somebody tell me what the hell I saw yesterday? It was a sedan, not too unusual to my ignorant eyes, but it had an Italian name beginning with T, and a badge that looked sort of like the T in the Texas Rangers logo. It wasn't a Tesla.

Today it was a red 1970 Opel GT. Smaller than I remember them; I think they look better now. There's nothing that dinky and that pretty out there. Friday it was a yellow 1967 ('66?) Chevelle four-door with "250" badges, which have always seemed rare--most people with sixes didn't brag about them, but this was the optional bored and stroked big six. I got alongside at a light and asked, "Stovebolt with a Powerglide?" "Yep!" We connoisseurs of fine Grandma Cars have a special kinship.

I was just out in California for a few days and our hotel was next to a Ferrari/Maserati dealership - too many to count. But we stopped at my cousin's house before heading to the airport and he has a working 1954 Citroen in the driveway. Not what I expected to see when we arrived, but Steven has always had a thing for odd cars.

A classic red Corvette convertible. I don't know the exact year, but it had the shark gill slits.

Neat. I've been a car geek, on and off, for much of my life, and i'd never even heard of Bricklin. Had to go read up about them.

I drove up to Carlsbad, north of San Diego, yesterday for a dip in the ocean. Saw an Audi R8 coupe on the freeway, and a Ferrari 458 Italia on the Pacific Coast Highway.

You think you're surprised? I had no idea any of them were still on the road! It actually looked pretty good, except for that awkward front bumper design. A little later, I saw it driving away, so I know it was running. Sadly, I didn't see the driver getting into it, so I didn't see the (powered gull-wing) door opening.

Likely a '68 or '69 Mako.

A friend stores his Porsches in a warehouse he shares with a Porsche mechanic. Saw this Speedster in there last weekend. Darn nice little car.

Got passed by a cherry early mid 70s 735i with custom wheels and that really sharp looking sandy gold paint that only looks good on German cars for some reason.

Ferrari California. It's growing on me day by day.

I keep a couple of cars in a nearby warehouse, and we have a new tenant.
A friend of mine let me and my son play with his 360 Modena for a bit today, and I played with the California while they rode around.

Plus a couple of things you don't see often.

Of course, it is summer here, and all the classic cars have come out to play, but I have been seeing some unusual ones. Yesterday I saw a classic VW beetle. Grey. The unusual part was that it had the split small rear window. It must have been an early one--I've never seen one like that; just read about them.

a 1978 Chevy Chevette, with antique plates, door magnets & a grill badge from AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America).
That car was laughable when it was new, it was pretty amazing to see one (in good shape) 36 years later.

The Dominos Pizza I worked at had it's own delivery vehicles (logoed out, of course) and one was a Chevette Diesel. We kids jokingly called it "the turbo" because it was hilariously slow. It was the only company car with a stereo (8 track, baby!).

I live about half mile from Woodward, and it's only a week till the dream cruise, So getting anywhere right now is a frustrating jam of somewhat interesting cars.

The most interesting I saw while going to the next block to buy smokes was a split-window 'Vette.

Three cars I saw on my walk to the store and back this afternoon: 1940s Hudson, a 1966 Malibu convertible, and an Aston Martin Vantage. Which is the most interesting? You decide.

Chevettes are antiques now? :: sob :: I learned to drive in one (and the instructor's Jeep), and I drove my mom's Chevette all over the place.

Today at the corner of Lansdowne and Ashburnham in Peterborough, I saw some kind of early-1970s CitroŽn. Mint-green, with that cool retro-futuristic look they had. I want to say that it was a CitroŽn SM. but I am not certain.

This morning at the somewhat misnamed Supercar Sunday I saw the 1967 Triumph Herald Estate that was pictured on the Beatles Abbey Road album cover.
The car is now owned by Jeff Dunham and has as they say a nice pantina.
I had a 1967 Spitfire (same chassis sports car body) so this was very familiar stuff to me.
