A year has come and gone...

Since we've had a thread about, "Ode To Billie Joe."

I'm still waiting for the seven minute version.

Because of global climate change, the hay isn't ready yet, this year.

So I'm driving the KW to LA to pick up a load to take to NYC. Should be ready on the sixth.

We're doing this again? Sigh. OK, I'll allow it, but only if y'all remember to wipe your feet.

Yeah, I know, it's a tradition, which is why I tried a different tack. Surprising that so far there are no comments on her appearance. Is this board growing up?

No, I didn't think so.

It's been fifty years or so since we heard about Billie Joe
But most things haven't changed all that much, don't ya know.
Mama's gone been twenty years come mid July
Brother lost Becky and the store and now don't even try
And me I'm pushing 75 but I still go up to Chocktaw Ridge
But I've forgotten why it was Billie Joe jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge.

Bobbie said she did, but said the song is not about the why as much as it is about dealing with grief and loss.
