Ugly product logos/mascots

What are your suggestions for the ugliest, most amaturish, or flat out worst product logos - hopefully for a somewhat major product?

I nominate, the Utz girl. I recently switched my pretzel loyalty from Snyder's to Utz. I find it hard to believe someone actually paid money for this cartoon figure. It has apparently been used for nearly 50 years.

What is your opinion of the Utz girl, or your suggestions of other poor "mascots"?

Larry H Parker Law Firm. While they are mascots in only the loosest sense, they are ugly. Even if they are successful 'in 95% of our cases'.

Ever time I see a sign for Kumon tutoring services, I think "I don't know what the face of success looks like, but THAT can't be it..."

In 1976, "the marvelous magical Burger King", played by Dick Gjonola, was fun.
The 2003 version, played by an mime in a plastic mask, was creepy.

This TSA logo is wrong for many reasons. Yet descriptive of the Trump Administration.

That's not a real logo, that is just someone trying to be funny. Did you actually think that was real? And it was created in 2008, so has nothing to do with Trump.

Its not a clickbait article. They are a logo design firm using horrible logos as examples of what not to do. However, you could be right that the TSA logo was fake.

“Fart” in Swedish means “speed”, so maybe they’re targeting Scandinavians. It’s certainly odd sounding to this English speaker, and seeing “Fart kontrol” road signs do tend to bring out the inner eight year old.

I don't know if I'd call it ugly, but I've always thought the United Airlines (and formerly Continental Airlines) globe logo looked really bland and corporate. I wish they'd kept the old United "tulip" logo.

Googling, that wasn't their logo, but the artwork on a Christmas card. I can see that a Christmas card didn't get as much scrutiny as a new corporate logo would have.

The current Pepsi Globe logo has been around since 2008 with only a minor tweak since then, and I still really dislike it. It just looks... wrong.

The Panda Express two talking pandas mascots were the worst mascots I ever saw on television. They try way WAY too hard for humor and end up being incredibly childish. I would see these ads air during primetime TV and they looked like they'd be more suited on Nickelodeon in the early morning.

In Switzerland I came across a train station with a large "FART" sign posted, which I assumed was an acronym. Not sure how to post it here, so if you want to see it, do a Google image search on "Locarno Switzerland fart sign", and it'll pop up.

It was the National Safe Place logo from 1983 through 2012, so no, not used by the TSA.

The Amazon logo obviously looks like a happy dick yet no one ever complains.

This has to be the most phallic logo ever created. I mean, they aren't even trying to be subtle.

Peyronie's disease
Quote:
eyronie's (pay-roe-NEEZ) disease is a noncancerous condition resulting from fibrous scar tissue that develops on the penis and causes curved, painful erections. Penises vary in shape and size, and having a curved erection isn't necessarily a cause for concern. But Peyronie's disease causes a significant bend or pain in some men.

For an ugly logo, I have already mentioned one for a fertility center that I pass on US-95 north of Boston, going towards New Hampshire. It has a pink THING for a logo that for the longest time I couldn't interpret. The closest thing I could get was that it looked like a squid, sort of, with three or four tentacles dangling under it. What that had to do with fertility, I have no idea. It was only when I looked them up online that I could tell what the logo was supposed to be. With all the separating lines in place, it was a man and woman embracing, but the sign by the road didn't look like that at all. It looks like it's offering roadside calamari.

And I've complained before about the Chessie System railroad logo. When I first sa this, in Rochester NY, I again had no idea what it was. I thought maybe the paint had blistered and cracked on a painted circle, but when I saw that all the railroad cars had the same "cracking", I realized that it was deliberate. It looked sort of like a cat head and upper body, but a weirdly distorted cat, and in an unnatural, gravity-defying pose. I made a sort-of "C", which was the point. It's at the top of this page:

https://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress...ilroad-kitten/

If you scroll down the page, you can see where it comes from -- it's the silhouette of a kitten sleeping on a pillow, which explains both the gravity-defying part (it's lying down, and they don't show the supportting pillow) and the distortion (parts of the kitten are covered by the pillow and blanket).

If you were familiar with the old logo, which actually SHOWED the image, you'd get it, and think that the silhouette was kind of cool, but if you'd never seen it (like me), you simply wondered what the hell it was supposed to be. Other logos, after all, that streamlined and modernized are perfectly comprehensible to the unintiated, like the late 1960s MGM logo that was used for 2001: A Space Odyssey, or the 1964 Bell Telephone "schematic" Bell logo.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_the_Lion_(MGM)#/media/File:MGM_logo_used_in_the_movie_"2001_A_Space_Odyssey".jpg

Good one. Speaking of railroads, following a wave of mergers from the '60s onward, it has been increasingly difficult to relate the railroad's name to where it goes or what it does, as these names used to represent, and today without even an attempt at an actual graphic logo. Worst among them are BNSF (which at least refers to the former Burlington Northern and Santa Fe lines) and the Chessie's successor, CSX (which, far as I can tell, means nothing at all).

Speaking of bizarre and disconcerting sports mascots, I have to nominate the hydrocephalic Mr. Met. Conan O'Brian did a bit on Mr. Met's suicide attempts when he didn't make it into the Mascot Hall of Fame.

When Mr. Met died in 2014, he was believed to be over 10,000 years old.

Sorry, but where do you get old or white from that graphic?

I also wonder what you see in that logo that is even a teensy bit pedo? Is a man never allowed to hold a child in his arms?

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the ColoGuard symbol / mascot yet. It's practically a picture of a butt with a turd hanging halfway out of it.

Lately the local furniture chain Bernie and Phil's has started running an ad with an animated box coming up to the front door. It's meant to illustrate that they now have Free Home Delivery. But when the woman opens her door and picks up the box and hugs it (with a big smile on her face) i swear it looks as if she's greeting her ColoGuard box. And a little too enthusiastically.

Dewey,

Be thankful that the tail on the “G” wasn’t colored brown. I think they were making a half-assed (Ha!) attempt at subtlety.
