The Masked Singer Season 3 (Spoilers for aired episodes)

Episode 1's six performers:
  1. Turtle
  2. Llama
  3. White Tiger
  4. Kangaroo
  5. Miss Monster
  6. Robot

I think maybe Turtle is a former boy-band member, perhaps Jordan Knight.

Anyone else have some guesses?

I caught a few minutes of this last night.
I'll be shocked if the Monster isn't Chaka Khan.

Chaka Khan is a good guess. I did feel like it was an older woman. She barely seemed able to move in that unfortunate costume.

The White Tiger is tall. It's gotta be a b-ball player.

I saw it last night, and couldn't come up with a single guess, or narrow things down beyond, "Well, that one's definitely female."

And then the one who was unmasked, yes, that was a famous person, but I've only ever known him as the originator of a catchphrase. Seriously, I don't think I ever laid eyes on him before. Platinum albums, you say?

White Tiger as an athlete makes sense. He can't really sing very well, but he could dance, it seemed like. I couldn't really take a guess.

Not being a big fan of recent rap music, I was only passably familiar with Lil Wayne. I recognized him when unmasked, but never would have identified him by his singing voice.

White Tiger must be Rob Gronkowski. Moves like him, sounds like him.

In the clue segment of White Tiger, I thought he sounded just like Hulk Hogan. Then hearing him after that it didn't!

Llama: With the Seattle connection, I was thinking Russel Wilson

Kangaroo : Iggy Azalea or Keisha

Miss Monster : Dionne Warwick , but Chaka is a great guess too

Did you guys see the unmasking of the llama last night? I am simultaneously delighted and disgruntled.

Whoever he is, he's the worst performer they've ever had. Even the worst of the rest have at least done passable karaoke. All he's done is rap bad rap badly. Shocked he's made wasn't eliminated in the first round.

Only watching sporadically but there is no way the tiger isn't Gronk.

I am also amazed that White Tiger wasn't toast this week. I agree, Gronk is a very good guess.

I still think Miss Monster is Chaka Khan, especially after the bit about how she's close to royalty, a queen, etc. Her last name, Khan, means king, if I remember correctly.

Still think the Turtle is one of the New Kids, probably Jordan.

I was surprised that the llama turned out to be Drew Carey! He was really not too bad! Certainly didn't deserve to go home, with the much weaker link of White Tiger still hanging in there.

I wonder if the early boots are somewhat fixed. They don't talk about prize money (only a trophy) and some of the contestants might only be able to commit to a couple of appearances.

I got Drew Carey from the "Seattle" and "Sound" clue package.

Could the Kangaroo be Sia aka Cousin ITT? A lot of the clues referenced Survivor and she has tangentially been involved with Survivor with her "fan favorite" prize money donation. If it weren't for Survivor I would never know who she is, so I don't know her singing voice.

Okay, so my guess for the White Tiger is: a very tall deaf person. Seriously, that was bad.

But he beat
SPOILER:
Chaka Khan!

Dr. Ken is still the best thing about the show.

I was thinking Sia also, mostly because of her being Australian. I don't know enough about her to glean anything from the clues but I do love me some 'roos and Sia, so here's hoping. . .

White Tiger is very terrible, and yet Chaka Khan had a pretty weak performance this week, comparatively.

White Tiger did manage to engage with the audience, and was the last to perform, which I suspect saved him.

I still can't make a credible guess on him. Very low voice, maybe an athlete? Gronk or John Cena is about the best I can do.

For one hot minute I was wondering if Kangaroo might be Paris Jackson. The voice doesn't sound Australian to me. Though Paris Jackson has no children, and I believe one clue revealed that Kangaroo is a mom.

Itís Gronk.

But even if itís not Gronk no way itís Cena. Cena is 6 feet, maybe 6í1Ē Gronk is 6í6Ē. The tiger is very tall.

As I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if the early voting is somewhat rigged. From what I understand, there is a lot of work with these celebs getting into their costume, and they all look very stressed when they take of the masks.

If the voting is legit, the audience and judges vote their favorite which is different than voting for least favorite. If people were voting for their least favorite, White Tiger would almost certainly be gone.

It does seem like they engage in some camera trickery when it's time to unmask a celebrity.

Heh, I had no idea who the Elephant was. The bicycle clue threw me way off, and I was busy thinking of cycling stars like Greg LeMond. Tony Hawk was a real surprise.

I was thinking Dionne Warwick for the Mouse.

Kitty might be a figure skater or a gymnast; I was thinking perhaps Tara Lipinski or Kerri Strug. Actually, Kerri Strug might be a better choice now that I think about it, with the "cats landing on their feet" thing. Also, I think I heard they were making a movie about her pretty soon, she might have ventured back into the spotlight on that account.

Me too, although she's 5' 7"...too tall?

Kitty - I heard Sheena Easton, but her movements were so youthful I have a hard time believing it could be her.

Taco - Tim Allen?

Banana - The clues also pushed me towards Darius Rucker, but that's what they're trying to do, isn't it? I wouldn't be able to tell from the voice.

My husband guessed Dave Chappelle for one of the singers (sorry I can't remember which at the moment), and I said, "No matter who it is, I'll be disappointed if you're not right. Dave would be so great on this show."

I think the panel was pretty close last night, in that the Taco is Martin Short and the Kitty is Nicole Ritchie.

Alternate guess for the taco : Rick Moranis (he sung in Little Shop of Horrors)

Apparently, there's going to be a Masked Singer Live Tour this June & July. Just one small detail; only one of the people in the costumes will be anyone that anybody has heard of, and, reportedly, it will be a "local" celebrity in each city - the "highlight" will be when the celebrity is revealed at the end of the show.

Somebody is under the impression that people will shell out decent amounts of money just to look at the costumes (well, and a couple of the celebrity singers, who will be the hosts of the show). It's not even clear if the people in the costumes will be the ones doing the singing; I suspect they have a group of dancers in the costumes, with the songs pre-recorded by actual singers.

There must be. I've looked into getting tickets to be in the audience*, and they make you leave before the unmasking to avoid leaks.

I am more convinced that the early voting is rigged. Just can't imagine any audience not voting for Dionne Warwick after that singing performance.

But Warwick is 79 years old, and it must be tough for anyone that to dress up in those costumes and perform on stage.

I think she sighed up for two episodes, and collected a hefty appearance fee. She probably saw in her crystal ball that the Psychic Friends Network residuals were drying up.

She still has a lovely voice.

Agree about the rigging, notfrommensa.

I was excited to see Gabriel Iglesias on last night, but he didn't get much chance to shine.

Taber, I always wonder how the audience is selected and what their experience is like. Obviously they're all taught the same gestures for each contestant, and probably asked to sing along or other things as well. They seem so unnatural.

I hope you are right, that makes me feel a little better. I was feeling a bit depressed that Chaka Khan and Dionne Warwick are getting outvoted by guys hopping around and shouting at us.

I have seen guesses that the Taco is Tom Bergeron. Seems plausible. I thought he did a fantastic job with the Sinatra tune in the first week, was less impressed by the song last night.

Tony Hawk flatly stated that he was only wanting to do (at most) 2 songs. This summer, we're heading into our first Olympics where skateboarding is an event, so I'm thinking Tony Hawk has probably got a very busy year lined up, and doing this show for 2 months wouldn't really be a smart option for him, even if he were a fantastic singer.

I agree; they probably sign on for the "Quick Exposure" package, or the "Lots of Exposure" package.

On last night's show, they unmasked the Taco.

They did a dumb friendship bracelet thing where all the celebrities gave bracelets to the panelists with clues on them. Except Ken, of course. He still makes me laugh with his hopeful/hopes dashed ridiculousness.

Let's see, what else...at one point Jenny McCarthy said, "I quit!" I certainly hope they'll hold her to it! Guest judge was T-Pain. For the Taco, everybody guessed a bunch of old white guys...someone said Barry Manilow, which totally pissed me off because he has a very recognizable voice. Why not Neil Diamond?

Anyway, the Taco was an old white guy - Tom Bergeron, but nobody guessed it. We've all totally sucked this season!

Frog has got to be Bow Wow (no longer L'il). Clue package testimonial said "I've known him since he was a tadpole," implying that he started young, and "He already had his own entourage." Bow Wow had a several-episode arc on Entourage, not as himself.

I signed up to get notifications at https://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/The_Masked_Singer

When they became available, I got an e-mail, and was able to sign up for standby tickets - there are priority tickets that guarantee entry, and standby that don't. It's about a three hour drive for me, so I wasn't willing to go without priority tickets.

There's a lot of detail about how to show up and get in, but not a lot about what it's like. They want you in nice clothes, it's 5 hours, and food won't be provided, so bring some, it is wheelchair-accessible, things like that.

Edit: It looks like Penn & Teller's show is looking for an audience, if you are in the Vegas area, and want to go on some Tuesday at 1:00 pm

In the clue package I was getting a strong Palin vibe, but then when she sang/rapped I thought, nah, it must be somebody else.

She will never spring back into relevance.
I am horrible at guessing but I am fairly sure that Turtle is Alphonse Ribeiro. All the clues fit. I was thinking that T-rex could be Kendall Jenner. I've been pretty good about not spoiling myself. One of them (Swan?) sounds exactly like Taylor Swift if she were worse singer.

Bugger! I watched almost the whole thing last night and they didn't even pull anybody's head off.

My favorite is the Kitty. She's a great singer, and I know it can't be Sheena Easton, but that's the only answer my imagination will give.

Least favorite is the Blowup Doll, I mean, "Night Angel" (like that's even a thing). She sang "Man, I Feel Like a Woman", which always makes me embarrassed to have a vagina.

I had lost track of the show and tuned in last night the first time in several weeks. It just happened to be a reunion show where the ones already unmasked sang together. Aside from Drew Carey and Tom Bergeron, I'm not sure I recognized anyone. Who is the kangaroo? Who is the guy that was the tiger? He was interesting.

I really like kitty. No idea who it is and have missed too much to make any kind of guess, but she is terrific.

White Tiger? Guess you are not a football fan.

White Tiger was Rob Gronkowski, former Tight End for the New England Patriots.
