Yes, I had a deep-friend Twinkie just out of curiosity. It was OK but I don't need to do that again.

Yes, a few times. However, that was always in my office at my desk. If I went to get more coffee, or visit the men's room, or speak with a colleague in his or her office, the shoes always went back on.

Yes, far too many. I was a klutzy kid. While playing with my friends when I was about 13, I nearly sliced the tip of one finger off,. The ER doctor sewed it back on. I still bear the scar. There were other stitches incidents, but that one stands out.

Yes. I am in Canada, and Ottawa is our nation's capital, and I have visited that city many times. I have even attended in the public gallery of Parliament during Question Period.

No, but I did go to a rally for Barack Obama during his first campaign for president in 2008.

No, when I was a kid there wasn't anything on the three networks that would have been unsuitable. The only movie theater was a drive-in that would have required my parents being present for the driving part. And since Pong had not been invented, the words "played a video game" were not yet a comprehensible phrase in English.

No, because I've never gone swimming in anything but a pool or a lake. (I did almost drown in a pool once, though.)

Nope. and after listening to a few minutes more than I had previously been exposed to I'm convinced, the salient and precious portions of the composition are captured nicely in the truncated 2001 Space Odyssey arrangement

Almost. We had a wildfire bearing down on us, and the air was full of smoke. We were being warned that we might have to evacuate. I had my cats' carriers ready, a bag with cat food, food and water bowls, water, and cat litter and a litter pan. I also had my own gear ready--stuff I'd need, a battery-powered transistor radio, plus a few personal things I didn't want to lose. The car had enough gas to get me two hours eastbound (the fire was coming from the west), where I would hopefully find a pet-friendly motel. An evacuation didn't happen, as the fire was successfully fought before it got here, but it came within ten miles or so. A scary time.

No, but I have selected a winning lottery scratch-off card once. It was for $100. I didn't even buy it, actually; it was given as a prize for winning first-place in a sales contest at work. (Everyone got a scratch-off ticket, but I got the first choice, and was lucky).

Not me, but let me explain.

Years ago, my local pub organized a night at the horse races. One of us was very excited--she had never been to a horse race, and had no idea what to do. But she wanted to try.

The program, with past performances and mutuel selections and graded handicaps, mystified her. Oh, she couldn't understand the odds and selections and past performances, but she twigged on the horses' names, and bet them. Or the jockey's silks ("He'll be wearing a red jersey with a dollar sign on the back? That's gotta be lucky!"). Or something similarly silly: "Oh, that horse looks like he's wearing socks!"

And she was winning, race after race! Meanwhile, I (who have been selecting horses and handicapping races for years) lost almost all of my wagers. So did the rest of us who knew how to play the horses. She went home with plenty of cash. I went home with enough left over for bus fare. Oh, well.

Sure, lots of times - it has a very low slope. I get up there maybe 3-4 times per year to clean the rain gutters with my leaf blower.

HYE left water running too long anywhere to the point it caused damage or a major clean-up effort?

No, but I *did* once put regular soap inside the dishwasher. It was my first time being asked to run the dishwasher! Now that was a major clean-up effort. Soap suds all over the kitchen floor.

Yes. When I was about 12, a friend and I scavenged some wood, and built a treehouse. It even had rudimentary walls and a roof. It lasted a couple of years, until a severe storm destroyed it. We didn't rebuild; we had other interests by then.

Not quite a sports league, but we did intramurals at work for a couple of years, with basketball for men, volleyball for women, mixed softball, and field events.

I was best man for my little brother.

I also filled in as best man when the real best man got a call informing him his baby had died (month old infant that had never left the hospital). I was at that wedding as the bridesmaid's date; I didn't know a soul there.

I seem to recall, a week or so before I got married, my best man and I going out for drinks. After a few more than we probably should have had, we got the idea to sample from the expensive side of the single-malt Scotch menu. I think I had one costing about $65 for one shot. It was superb. Too bad I can't remember what it was.

Yeah. When I was a teenager, our family's full-sized van was stolen right from in front of our house. It was the second time someone had attempted to steal it. The first time, we actually caught someone in the act. This time, we didn't recover the van for several days, which was kind of a pain in the ass because my backpack was in there. Eventually, it was brought to a police impound lot, where the backpack and other things from it were recovered. The van was a total loss, though. Dad didn't allow any of us to see it, but when he came back from seeing it, he was crying. I don't want to know what it looked like.

Yes. I was at a college basketball game, and my school (the home team) won the game as a big underdog. The students all ran out onto the Court, and it was complete chaos. I found myself face to face with one of the most hated players on the opposing team, so I shoved him away from me. The game wasn't over though. The refs said there was still a little bit of time left on the clock, so we all had to get off the Court so the game could finish (we still won).
