I recognized all the (male) butts, but I didn't actually recognize all the cast members playing the game of butts.

This video on visual effects is pretty cool. Lots of great shots of Spanish locations in season six, including the Tower of Joy.

Loras with a beard and 35 year old Bran look way different.

I wonder if Jaime's butt was a body double.

Apparently showrunners Benioff and Weiss have indicated that after this season, they'll be down to their last 13 episodes and plan to split them up somewhat like Breaking Bad or Mad Men's final (2) season - 7 and 6. Though obviously it's too early for them to be completely sure:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/16/ar...r-seasons.html

Quote:
“I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season,” Mr. Benioff said. “We’re heading into the final lap. That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that’s what we’re looking at.”

The trimmed schedule would include seven episodes next season, and six in an eighth and final one. HBO countered that “any conversations about the end of ‘Game of Thrones’ and the number of episodes of future seasons is purely speculative.”

White House can get copies of movies around the same time they hit theaters. That's been going on a long time.

I have read elsewhere that uses the fact that there is footage of Thoros presiding over a hanging to speculate that Lady Stoneheart will make an appearance. I'm skeptical myself. Now, if there was scuttlebutt that Michelle Fairely was on set. . ..

Given the secrecy it could be a major character gets whacked early on. Hope it's Ramsay Bolton.

They don't really need her. It's a rotting corpse with a torn up face and no voice, it just has to vaguely resemble her.

I thought she was spotted on a plane to Belfast, but I might be misremembering.

I never liked Lady Stoneheart, and that storyline hasn't gone anywhere yet so it's hard for me to get too excited about it. I imagine it's gotta be going somewhere, but maybe not if the show leaves it out.

I would not be surprised if they drop it. In the grand sweep of things, Lady Stoneheart doesn't seem vitally important.

It may not be an important part in the Readers' Digest version that is the show, but in the books, I can see it be important to Jaime's continued development, as last we saw, Brienne found Jaime in the Riverlands and seemingly was leading him to her (by claiming she found Sansa or something, IIRC). Jaime is a... bit... different in the show at the moment.

Season 7 may not start in April. Producers are delaying production to get weather more suggestive of winter:
Quote:
“We’re starting a bit later because, at the end of this season, winter is here, and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purpose anymore,” Weiss said. “We kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim, gray weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”

Production has traditionally started in July, a time of year clearly not conducive to the vibe executive producers are hoping to achieve.

Five out of the six “Thrones” seasons have started in April, and the third season premiered on March 31. The showrunners said they have no air date in mind at this time.

The actress who plays Queen Cersei was on NPR's quiz show "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!" this weekend. You'll like the music they picked for the outro: http://www.npr.org/2016/07/09/485092...ame-of-thrones

Possible leak of Winds of Winter text by GRRM himself?

I got this at least second hand, so I won't swear to it, but here is what I was told:

There was recently (no more than a few weeks ago) a tv interview with GRRM broadcast and while he was speaking in the background you could see his computer screen with Word Perfect (?really?) open with a page of text showing. Supposedly some fans have managed to make out what it says, and it's a scene with Yara (Asha) at Stannis's camp before they start the siege of Winterfell.

And that's all the person who told me knew -- not who the interviewer was or what TV show it was on or anything useful. Anybody else heard about this?

Even better: he uses circa 1987 WordStar 4.0 for DOS last I checked. Unless he "upgraded." IIRC he prefers the lack of distraction that an internet-capable computer would offer.

Wow, WordStar? I remember that one. Though the memory is sheathed in decades of cobwebs....

Anyway, my coworker asked her husband. He saw it on Last Week Tonight, about two weeks ago.

So I got a solicitation to pre-order a 20 year anniversary illustrated edition of Game of Thrones. Sounds nice, but it doesn't say how much the thing costs.

Out of curiousity I click the link.... and the page it leads to *still* doesn't say how much it costs. But there's another link to click....

I wonder how many steps you have to go through before they'll actually put the price in?

The season 6 Blu-ray releases November 15th; it was over $60 when I preordered it and it's already down to $39.99 now.

So Dean-Charles Chapman just got a lot of "exposure", but not the kind actors usually intend for.
