Has Trump shot someone in 5th Avenue yet? At the rate he is going, we might get to test that boast.

If he tried, he’d probably end up shooting himself in the foot and his followers would discuss what great leadership it shows. And then he would say his bleeding foot shown on live TV was fake news and he has “The best aim, best!”.

Of course he'd insist on having the surgery done with a local rather than general anesthetic so he could give the surgeon instructions as he goes about fixing his foot, cuz dontcha know that he knows more about surgery than anybody.

I hope they can work on the bone spurs while they’re in there. The poor man has been suffering for 50 years.

Don't forget that it was all Pelosi's and Obama's fault, somehow.

Trump told a long story about Van Jones leaving him off a list of people to credit for justice reform, then apologizing.

Jones, who vocally credits Trump for justice reform, says none of this happened...and Trump may be confusing him with John Legend.

Trump wants to shrink the NSA.
Is this Trump punishing the agency for the whistleblower? Why, whatever made you think that? This is being done because of new NSA adviser Robert O'Brien wanting a leaner, meaner NSA.

Oh, and I'm sure the fact that a second whistleblower might come forward has nothing to do with it either.

Trump tweets that Romney is a "pompous ass." And he would know, having looked in the mirror at one for so many years. Good strategy for keeping Senate Republicans on your side as the Impeachment Train comes barreling down the track, too, Mr. President!

Hey, remember Ed Meese? Mired in scandal, was the target of many investigations, and held Richard Nixon's belief that if the President does it, it's not illegal?

Here's your Presidential Medal of Freedom Mr. Meese

Also adding to the fun: one of Meese's signature causes was pornography. So getting that medal from Mr. Appeared-in-Several-Playboy-Videos (not to mention Mr. Consorted-with-Porn-Star-While-Wife-was-Home-with-their-Newborn) must have been an extra-special feature of the day for ol' Ed.

Quote:
... Meese sought to establish tough policies against PORNOGRAPHY. He appointed a Commission on Pornography, which issued a controversial two-volume report in 1986 that stated that there was a causal link between violent pornography and aggressive behavior toward women. The report also claimed that nonviolent, sexually explicit material contributed to sexual violence, a conclusion that many social scientists challenged. ...

Polls show support for impeachment grows: https://www.aol.com/article/news/201...rump/23836927/

Not that it will make much difference to timid, willfully-blind Senate Republicans.

It would need to be happening in their home state, and hence be a direct threat to their job.

There were ... <skims article again, does some Chisanbop> ... 14 things in this article that pissed me off, if we discount repeats. I was planning on enumerating them, but that might make me grind my teeth to the point that some of them shatter, so I'll just leave it here and invite the group to come up with your own respective totals. Post 'em if you wish, but remember, this is not a competition.

I teach my students here Chisanbop (지산법). Heck, I even taught it to my wife (who happens to be South Korean). I also use Chisanbop quite often when I need to do some quick addition or subtraction.

How were you introduced to it? I learned it when I was a college freshman in Seoul.

Pretty much the same way most people my age in the USA were - through TV commercials touting some mail-order system of teaching it. I even remember a game show where someone tried to set a "world record" of some sort by using it, even though (a) I could do the problem in my head faster than the contestant could using it, and (b) in the end, she made a mistake when she thought the answer to the final problem was 100 more than it actually was.

Remember that this is the letter that Trump leaked to a Fox News host because he was super duper proud of it.

I heard an interview of a Turkish diplomat this morning on NPR (didn't catch her title, some sort of envoy or something). Anyway, when asked what the Turkey thought of the letter she said "We ignored it. It lacked a certain diplomatic finesse."

Another award for understatement of the year.

This from an administration whose diplomatic finesse amounts to ethnic cleansing of Kurds. And even they find a way of looking down on Trump's "third grade" diplomatic effort.

The secretary should have refused to type up the letter. What a fucking joke. This is unworthy of a note passed between prison cells, let alone between world leaders. He is a fucking little toddler, and a dull witted one at that.

Are you kidding? If there was a coup tomorrow, Trump wouldn't be standing proudly on a tank by the Mall. He'd be in a Gulfstream flying to one of his overseas resorts, and probably shitting his pants.

This article from Trump's former VA secretary gives a vivid picture of what it's like trying to have a conversation with the man, and that was before he even took office. Trying to talk to him now— especially to refuse an order, to offer even mild criticism, or tell him anything he doesn't want to hear— must be an impossible task.

So, Trump should win an unexpected reelection, dismiss Pence , replace him with Gina Haspel and then resign.

Yeah, say what you will of ol’ Boris he was no coward.
He did let the country go to pot and opened the way for Putin, though. So indeed, the fear is that after orangefool, THEN will come an actually competent strongman and then we will be really screwed.

Hmmm, interesting. The next G7 meeting is going to take place at a Trump property in Florida.

Is it just me or is it getting more corrupt out there?

It's just openly corrupt now.

We've reached the phase of "So what, fuck you, I'll do whatever I want."
