Knew you were a Pterry fan. Right on Greebo; for the rest, the murderer (who I believe was profiled by Norman Mailer) was Gary Gilmore; the monk I had in mind, who wrote about Arthur, was Gildas. I would also have accepted Geoffrey of Monmouth, whose Chronicles of the Kings of Britain is the major medieval source of Arthur lore.

IQ1: Are you an Ohioan Civil War general who became the second President to be assassinated in office?

IQ2: Did you play Spider-Man?

IQ3: Did biologists name a species of tick after you, and paleontologists informally call the stegosaurus’ spiky tail a “thagomizer”, in honor of your cartoons, which often featured scientists and mathematicians?

DQ1: Did you write a daily feature?
DQ2: Single-panel cartoon?

I am not Gene Kranz, George Custer, James Garfield, or Andrew Garfield, but I am indeed Gary Larson! Next game (and thread) goes to Slow Moving Vehicle.

Woot! It came to me when I was out running tonight.

Well, since it’s a new month, I’ll start a new thread.

I used to run a copier that was the size of a cadillac, and I taped Far Side cartoons all over it. Nice choice. Grats SMV!

Honestly, EH, I got this because of you. I was thinking about comic book artists, when your IQ about Garry Trudeau made me realize that DLR's answers also applied to comic strip writers as well. From there it was a short jump to the other famous Gary in comics.
