I'm really disappointed it's the same mechanics again, down to literally digging a second time.

Also? I earned a gate as a prize and it's also something I can craft? So now I have to craft a bunch of bushes or trees or a gate, all things I ALREADY HAVE to level up crafting. Crafting should be ONE PER ITEM and they should be UNIQUE, at least in the event.

This event seems rather unbalanced as one of the collectables maxed out last week (the one which increased tapping radius), the three characters were maxed out yesterday, I'm almost done with the crafting (and I maxed out the 100% bonus for the graveyard+Flanders time even earlier), now I'm grinding out the mummy dressings which will probably take another week+ (11 days left).

But maybe that's how all these things go.

Thanksgiving mini update. Looks like mystery boxes instead of straight-up hour-by-hour Black Friday deals, but I could be reading the other sites wrong.

Christmas info is on the app store. Four parts... not specifically four "acts." Hopefully it'll be a little bit of a change up from the three acts+crafting we've been doing non-stop.

New thing just dropped with golden tokens. Short version - if you buy donuts you can get tokens to get stuff. The final prize is a Lard Lad Donut factory that produces six donuts a day. But you need to buy 900 donuts to get it. Or $50 in real world money. And yes, you need to buy the donuts, earned donuts don't count.

You do get one free token so spend it wisely. Most people are opting for Gold Box, as that is the quest and that has the best prizes.

Pretty good value here... the $1.99 12 donuts + a token gives a pretty hefty 91 donuts equivalent for every $1 spent (a redeemed golden token gives you something worth a minimum of 170 donuts, ((170+12)/2=91)). I'm not doing the math for all the purchases, but I think the only value better is a $1 Golden R scratch off which gets you a chance to win 100 donuts.

Crunching the numbers, the best way to get the 900 is not through the 1-time purchase of 900 donuts for $50 (also gets you 7 tokens), but through 3 purchases of 300 donuts for $20 each (also gets you 5 tokens per purchase, therefore 15 tokens).

One time purchase, 900 donuts + 7 tokens for $50:

(900 + (170◊7))/50 = 2,090/50 = 41.8 donuts per dollar spent.

3 purchases of 300 donuts @ $20 each:

(900+(170◊15))/60 = 3,450/60 = 57.5 donuts for every dollar spent.

(Technically, you can avg 91 donuts per dollar spent if you make 75 purchases of 12 donuts each, but that will cost $150 and require 75 separate purchases. But if you do that, you will get a minimum of 13,650 donut equivalents ((75◊170)+900).)

New event dropped with a 6 second job for Lisa followed by 4 hour tasks for Lisa, Millhouse, and Ralph.

On a semi-related note. I realized a couple days ago that Big Claw, the giant turkey pays out when you tap it. I have trouble finding it in my Springfield, but I got money and XP when I did tap it.

Big Claw pays out 3 times every 24hours, so tap it, track it as it runs, tap it again, track it again, tap it. All right after the other.

He gives 2 pills as well as XP and $.

And, just in case somebody forgot, the TV station has timed tasks as well.

Black Friday roundup

Went ahead and got my donut factory, quite happy with it. I spent all my tokens on token items and then spent well over 1k donuts on kids for 20 donuts each (compared to "men" who were going for 90 donuts, a 3.5:1 bargain). When I ran out of kids, I bought alter-egos (25 donuts) then 1 or 2 women (70 donuts).

As far as I can tell, the kids earn the same as adults for the same tasks, so spending 90 for the same thing 20 gets you seemed kind of silly.

I've been putting off getting Santa's Little Helper for a long time because paying a lot of donuts for a character with no tasks seemed silly to me. Lo and behold, they gave him to me today. And with tasks! It's a Christmas miracle!

I was literally about to post the same thing - how I wanted SLH, how it seemed silly to spend 150 donuts on the dog, how... since I have the donut factory now... I might go ahead and buy him anyway - and now he's just been given to me. It is a Christmas Miracle™, it is!

I'm happy when stuff is given to players, but seriously, wtf? I paid good donuts for that damn dog. Just like I paid for Kang and/or Kodos.

So long-term players get... nothing?

If they ever get tasks for Handsome Pete, I'm getting that guy.

Is Handsome Pete still available?

One thing I've been doing to increase donuts is cancel out my daily contest if it doesn't offer donuts, forcing the game to offer another one. You can do this once, daily, and I do it if the challenge nets me something lame like... well, like anything other than donuts.

I think I found a bug which gives me an extra 100k XP whenever I exploit it. It requires the "digging tiles" from the Halloween contest, however, AND I'm running the XP Collider.

Not 100% sure of the steps I take to do it, but here goes:

1. Dig, winning at least two prizes.
2. Do something else.
3. Exit the game (you want it to ask if you want to go)
4. Return to the game.
5. Voila! 100k XP!

I've done the above 3 times since I posted it and, yeah, it does work. I don't know if it's 100k or a multiple of the number of items I've dug up, but the above technique does work and it's replicable.

600k. My bonus percentage is 2638 before the collider kicks in.

It actually seems to be about 4444 xp

The extra percentage you get to money and xp collected depending on what items you have in your springfield. You can see it when you click on the conformity stats in the lower left. I'm guessing yours is about 450ish.

I just happen to be running the Mulitplier today because I had a free one in storage. I tried this trick but it didn't work for me though -- I won two items from the burial grounds, then went out and collected from buildings, exited, and then went back into the game. Do you have to leave XP and money floating and not counted for it to work?

Hmm. Here are the steps I just took:

1. Started out with 28 pickaxes. XP is 456,251
2. I dug for 3 prizes. XP at the end of this was 471k.
3. Went through, got some more prizes. Ending XP before I exited was 472,716.
4. Exited the game.
5. Immediately re-entered. (in other words, did nothing else on my phone but re-tap the game icon.)
6. I was greeted with this.
7. Ending XP: 32,596

Additional XP gained: 59,880. If it's dependent upon the number of prizes, then 19,960 per prize.

I did it 3 times in a row and it added another base 2222 in xp (so total about 900k in my game). Also, just going to the friends screen and back triggered it without exiting.

Interesting. I'll try that next time.

But, to make sure, you're confirming that there is a bug here?

Yeah, seems to be. This XP appears to be in addition to the 15 base xp / square or 525 base xp for the whole field.

I'm not sure. I can't access that image. I'm not talking about your conformity percentage. You have to click on the stars. If you're getting 19,960 per prize than yours is actually around 180% I think.

Hmmm. Must be something wrong in my calculation or my understanding. There used to be a 'hidden' xp boost from certain Springfield Height buildings, but I thought they fixed that in a recent(ish) update. Maybe not though.

Two questions:

1. What are "animations"?
2. Some of my tasks have a symbol beside them which indicate... speed, I guess. (Three people outlines, different shading). What does the symbol mean?

I think the answer to both your questions is the same. The little icon indicates that the activity is something you can watch them doing. In other words, not inside a house or structure or otherwise out of sight.

New storyline this week involving Ned, Homer, and pasta. One of the prizes involves something called the "Sky Finger Monument" which purports to be an item which allows 1-touch gathering. However, I just got this thing and it is taking 24 hours to recharge, so if you can only do this once per day, it's not as big a deal as it seems.

But, according to tsto addicts, this is a long-awaited for event, so players of this game may not want to miss out:

It will make my gathering go way, way up.

Or according to this barely tangentially related quote:

Comic Book Guy - “Inspired by the most logical race in the galaxy, the Vulcans, breeding will be permitted once every seven years. For many of you this will mean much less breeding, for me, much much more.”

And before anyone gets TOO excited, it collects buildings, not jobs. Which is better than a kick to the face, to be sure, but you still got a lot o' tapping to do

I don't send people on jobs any more unless it's event related. So the finger monument is great for me because now that I have over $120 million I also stopped collecting from buildings.

I just tried it and got over about $700,000 that I normally would not have collected. So it's looks like I'm back into the money game since it's only one tap instead of way too many.

I'm happy.

Also shouldn't it also collect the free land token? I usually forget about that too. I didn't think of it and actually tapped on the free land token before the monument but since it comes from a building I would think it should collect it.

Put the land token building next to the monument to remove any doubt. And I get 2 tokens a day, not one.

Gotta say, that sky finger is rather disappointing. I haven't bothered to tap it in the past day, though it's been activated. By the time I'm done tapping through my people, I've collected 90% of my building revenues.

I don't know if it is just a bug on mine or more universal, but if I go to the friends list and come back after tapping 'Sky Finger,' then a bunch (but not all) of my buildings have instantaneously regenerated their cash.

Maybe try tapping 'Sky Finger,' go to friends and back, and then tap all your people.

I didn't realize that there was a land token building. I'm going to have to grab that one.
